Pauper is a format where you get to play all the most broken spells, but with some pretty average creatures. But some spells are too strong, even for Pauper. What if we played them?

  • You guys have some of the best editing for paper magic games I've seen on youtube, these matches are just effortlessly followable
  • @JulietKneeled
Oh my God, Thoralf pondering for three lands, shuffling, drawing a land, preordain bottoming two lands, then draw TWO MORE LANDS ALL IN A ROW is insane??? What are even the odds of that
  • the carl market sleeve making it into the pile of sleeves is incredible! did you guys ever figure out how that happened?
  • Thoralf: “This hand seems like fair magic, I don’t like it” Love it 😂😂😂
  • @pupsinsbarks
Watching this right after the behind the scenes video is a really cool experience! Everything you talked about there - the friendship, the joy, the trust, the thumbnail faces - all of it comes together to make something that feels welcoming in its effortless fun. Congrats again on 100k, you’ve earned it!
  • As a beginner player, to listen to more experienced players explaining their plays is really helpful. Plz continue these kind of content! 😊

After yesterday's behind-the-scenes video I have a much greater appreciation for the level of effort y'all keep putting into these videos. I especially love the Pauper content because it's so underappreciated and I even have a few banlist decks for when my pod is feeling 'aggressive' towards each other haha

2:54 Jamin spotting the sleeve cracked me up. Good eyes, dude. Spotted the marked card. Clearly Thoralf was in cahoots with Carl on this one! The cards don't lie.

Can we all stop and appreciate how expertly Thoralf navigated that grapeshot into double lightning bolt? It's so tempting to try and fire off those bolts earlier to get extra storm triggers. But had he done it in any other order, Jamin would have had choices and may have been able to keep a creature in play. The way it was sequenced, having perfect knowledge of Jamin's hand, perfectly cleared the board no matter what. It also might have been tempting to attack for 5 + 6 from two bolts and another 5 from grapeshot to the dome. But the crack back was in hand, exactly lethal. I could see an argument for attacking for 4, leaving a single blocker but you give Jamin so many outs off the top. Definitely better to clear and win on the ground. Very impressive and probably not obvious! It just looked like Thoralf had it all, but he only had it all because he found the optimal line in a sea of options. And for that, I tip my hat.
  • Looking through pauper's banlist is hilarious. It feels like every single card is banned because of storm.
  • Hello Card Market crew, I just wanted to say how amazing this channel is. The editing, the energy, it's all top notch and watching has really taken my interest in magic to new heights. I hope it continues doing well and you can keep growing the channel.
  • I've only played 34 minutes of MTG Arena and so I'm fairly clueless about most stuff, but the way all your videos are structured makes it pretty easy to understand and follow and I really enjoy them!

Easily the best paper mtg content on all of YouTube. The editing is unreal, videos aren’t like 3 hours long of just gameplay, and the smart side commentary is amazing for breaking down what’s going on.
  • @BojukaPod
Thank you guys so much for having our sticker featured in the video! It's an honor!

I have been playing magic for quite some time, but it’s great to watch more seasoned players play and hear the logic behind their choices. I feel like it helps me with my own logic when it comes to making my own choices in game play. Keep up the good work
  • You guys are a blast to watch. It's easy to follow, the background music is perfect, and the interviews are instructive without being intrusive. Also, Pauper is the best.
  • @TheRealGurphy
Its so cool watching this after the behind the scenes! Seeing everyone make notes for later and knowing what goes on makes it feel like we have insider knowledge now haha
