My entire generation grew up listening only to Boney M and Abba. Timeless music
  • They were not fake. They were all part of what is called a musical project. It combines various artists, from singers, dancers, music composers, lyrics writers, to choreographers, stylists, etc. Musical projects were popular in the 80's and 90's and most of them had a very big success. Fake is Auto-Tune singing and AI generated music.

No matter what Boney. M will always have a place in my heart. Their Christmas album is the best Christmas album imo.

I was all about Boney M and ABBA as a kid in the late 70s; they were to me the best bands in the world! I still love their music.

Bobby Farrell may not sung with the band but his presence was always felt. His performance alone was what made Boney M a great band.

I did some work Liz Mitchel around 20 years ago. I met her at a friend's wedding and at the time was working as a Web designer and they needed some advice. She was incredible as a live singer and a beautiful person. I visited her home and it was a thrill to stand with her under all her gold records that were on the wall. Her husband was still very bitter about all of this. I kind of wanted to say to him - 'Man! You're married to this beautiful, talented woman and you live in an amazing house and have this incredible legacy. Enjoy it!' I was broke at the time with a young son but I was happy and I still am. Enjoy today, take note of what you have. It was one of the great moments of my life to meet her. Love you Liz! Thanks for the Video!

Boney M are not completely lip-sync group like Milli Vanilli. Two of the members, Liz Mitchell and Marcia Barett recorded on their own voice. And later Bobby record his part with his own voice. Only Maize Williams who did not have a chance to sing with her own voice on recording except at live performance. Liz Mitchell is the iconic voice of the group because she is the lead vocalist, and still remains performing Boney M with her new generation members til this day. I grew up with their music.

I would rather listen to a fake Bonny M than a real Taylor Swift ❤️

In many ways the story of Boney M is so very, very sad, Yet I remember buying their albums ( Yes! 12" vinyl) and dancing at the huge Heaven Disco under the Railway arches at Charing Cross Station in London ( an iconic venue at that time) I am now 71 years of age, yet remember the Boney M era as if it was yesterday. Thank you for posting this enlightening video and greetings from the U.K. 🇬🇧
  • Liz Mitchell sang the songs, and I enjoyed listening to them in the 70’s when I was a kid, and my family would play Brown girl in the ring in parties all the time, don’t downplay what they achieve.

No Christmas without Boney M songs. ❤
  • Ignoring any level of diatribe against the band, absolute majority of fans worldwide will cherish the charisma & class of BOBBY FARRELL. HE & HIS TEAM WILL FOREVER REMAIN IN OUR MEMORY. ❤❤❤

Their achievement was unique and magical, the nostalgia and the poignant feeling that their music evokes is something eternal. They bolstered our childhood happiness and lifted us out of depression. Probably, no music compares to theirs when it comes to making children going berserk with excitement. One of my extremely religious uncles who resisted all worldly things could not resist "Felicidad". Boney M turned the world upside down and opened a fresh leaf in the pages of history.

Frank Farian created in the West the business model of the performer being different from the singer. Bobby was perfectly chosen for being the funny and stylish showman. Frank showcased that you can become whatever you want if you just decide and focus on it. This man evolved from a cook to a producer and brought us great sounds by pioneering.

Boney M WAS MEGA HUGE IN MEXICO. I was surprised when I came to the US that people hadn't heard of them.
