  • As an ex-judoka, for me, still the best of all spectator sports. So explosive, lots of skill. Minimal injuries.

We're going to need Judo lawyers, apparently.
  • When i practiced, the penalty system was more complicated with shido, shui, keikoku and hansoku make. They respectively gave the opponent koka, yuko, waza-ari and ippon.

can't touch the legs?!? only armlocks and chokes? Jesus they really killed the art
  • @ryancastle6750
This was very clear and concise, just the type of video I was looking for while researching whether I should take up the Art. Thank you.
  • @zydeco2024
Exactly what I needed to watch the Olympics! Thank you so much!
  • @GuitarraUltima
I can't understand why they quit to award yukos. The leg touching prohibition is mysterious to me too. It seems like pretty soon the fight will still be called judo but it will be judo no more. Also only 2 shidos allowed is kind of over the top.

Wow! Dopiero teraz zobaczyłem komentatora zawodów judo, którego głos słyszałem od tak dawna. Bardzo mi miło, pozdrawiam.
  • @jx14aby
Thank you so much. I watch but have had no idea what they were talking about.
  • The fact that Neil Adams voice is everywhere in Judo is more of a crime than hansoku against leg grabs
  • @odanne29
I am a ju-jitsu ka (Japan), and i love Judo too..
  • @zoltanm8278
If they bring back the yuko and leg grabs, I'll come back to Judo
  • @Sr.D
Not for me, Olympics and ijf are ruining judo.
  • @nyhyl
If one thinks that "rei" is achieved by only moving your body to a bow, one hasn't understood the art's philosophy. This development is transforming judo into a soulless, westernized sport.

I liked the older video better, but I guess this works with the cuts given the rule changes. Personal opinion time 2 yuko does not equal wazari, the gripping restrictions introduced are worse and the previous rules were better, leg grab should not be a shido or hansokomake
  • Are you allowed to do different grips 'neutrally" in that, you're not intending to throw immediately but also don't use the grip to block your opponent?
