I think this is the philosophy I've been looking for.
  • This sermon moved me more than I wanted it to. It actually lines up with what I've always intuitively felt - even more than the label "atheist" which I normally wear - without pandering to the lazy "I'm perfect no matter what I do" creed I think a lot of people want to hear. Watching this as an atheist I felt the urge several times to stand up and shout "hallelujah!"

"Profound humility and active love" This religion is definitely one of the best, most tolerant, most humane religions in the world today. Furthermore (like Baha'i and some of the eastern religions) this religion moves the world actively toward world peace and harmony. I grew up as a Christian. I am still a Christian. I am proud to say that my religious expression of choice is with the Unitarian Universalist church. I love their 7 principles too!
  • Loving people more than I'm comfortable with is something I can admire in a church. That is a congregation I'm interested in engaging with.

Thank you for a fine introduction to your community and your tradition. It was very enlightening, and I appreciate it.

Very good explanations of UU, thank you very much for this. My husband and I attended a UU church this past Sunday for the 1st time, together and it interested us. This helped clarify things even more. We'll probably attend a few more times, at least.

This preacher is outstanding. He has gone into the primary documents and main thinkers of Unitarianism and Universalism, and these give him his enthusiasm. My congregation just said goodbye to another outstanding minister served us for over 20 years, someone many feel is virtually impossible to replace. I think Aaron White could come pretty close! When the search formally starts in a few months, I will be putting this minister forward.

Thanks, First U Dallas, for another fine video from Rev. Aaron White. I really appreciate hearing from him. As often, it saddens me to read the comments section here on YouTube as it does elsewhere online, and to see people telling others that they're practicing their own faith incorrectly. At least with videos like this one, those who have an open mind and ears to hear have the opportunity to learn what we Unitarian Universalists are all about. Thank you again!

So my beliefs actually have an official name and apparently I'm not alone... hugh. I like learning little things about myself randomly. 😁
  • i found this very inspiring and helpful because all of my friends are christian and when they ask what being uu means or what it is i dont exactly know what to say and i feel cleansed and fresh after listening to this  thank you soo much -finley J

I was religiously abused and abusers by a preacher as a child and I prayed for God to help me heal. I recently found the UU churches and their philosophies and I’m so grateful. No dogmas, no threats, no divisions or discriminations, just finding truth, making the world the best we can and seeking justice and compassion for our fellow man. This speech really expressed things wonderfully🙏🏼❤️

I’m learning about this church, and wow. This guy is an AMAZING speaker.

Yup...I'm a Unitarian Universalist....For the longest time I dug buddhism but not the whole reincarnation or exactly that there is a good or bad karma and that it directly equates to what you get in return....experience is just experience...And that's the church I want...The church of individual perception and the motto is that "there are no absolute truths and everything is subjective."  But yeah. I live in a major city with one of these church's i found out, so I'll be there next sunday.  The main benefit of this to me is to build a sense of community and share my spirituality amongst others.  Peace and love you all.
  • Rev. Aaron Whites sermons are incredibly inspiring! I wonder if he still preaches as these videos seem quite a few years old
  • I love this so much. I wish there was a community like this around where I live.

This is the most beautiful thing I have heard in so long. I cannot wait to join this church. His sermon profoundly touched my soul.
  • @impurfekt
This might be the first sermon I've ever heard that I can 100% agree with.
  • @mntribefan
I love what I heard. I have a real problem with absolutism. I suspect it is partially because I harbor this myself. I am planning on visiting a nearby UU church. I'm cautiously excited about what I will find there.
