Sugarloaf - Snubber Triple (Full Ride)

Published 2024-04-20
Finally, after three weeks of processing here is a full version of the Snubber Triple at Sugarloaf mountain. It took me awhile to get this video spliced together and processed on my computer. This is not the first perspective of the lower part of Snubber, but at least I have this on my channel for reference! Hope you all enjoy.

The Lift:
The Snubber Triple at Sugarloaf Maine is a three person chairlift that extends from the lower mountain townhouses to just above the Whiffletree quad. It is one of two lifts on the mountain that has a mid-station unloading (formerly three), but is the only lift to allow mid-station loading - something quite rare for fixed grip chairlifts. Snubber serves as a low-traffic lift for beginners, people staying in the nearby condos, and people who park in the lower lots on days when the Sawduster double is closed. Few people actually ski to the bottom of this lift (only one trail that leads down) as it's quite a long ride down from the mid-station. While the lift was built in 1985, the mid-station was installed in 10 years later in 1995.

  • Longest and flattest fixed grip at the Loaf now (West Mountain has been shortened). I ended up doing two separate videos of this lift last season: bottom to midstation and midstation to top. The whole ride took more than 15 minutes.
