Oh dear... Rab Havlin and Stowell somehow manage not to win at Lingfield Park for John and Thady Gosden, as their stablemate Polling Day and Frankie Dettori manage to win. Havlin was subsequently banned for 21 days by the BHA Stewards.

i have had most of my betting success on the Gosden stable A massive irony here Havlin looses on purpose and rightly gets 21 days should have been 121 days So many times over the years when i have backed him he loses when he should have won but was crap in the saddle

21 days is not good enough. This why we see this shit happen! Minimum one month, a maximum of 6 months, might make the jockey think twice.

An investigation should be held to decide if this was pre planned or just a god awful ride. All jockeys are at it. I've lost count how many times I've seen jockeys just give up if they not gonna win. Then horses go past them stealing the places. Boils my blood. and il tell you something I have never seen a female jockey give up as blatantly as many of the guys.

I don't get it. If a person is found to be fiddling a race that person should just be banned from racing for life. Too many jockeys get a slap on the wrist for it and it's the punters who suffer in the end.

Looking at the big screen on his left inside the last furlong making sure he wasn't going to go past quickly
  • De La Sayette is lucky to have these two jockeys to learn from, already mastered the cocaine ban

The question dopey Chapman and scruffy seb didn't think to ask was if the horse in front was trained by balding, varian, hills etc would havlin still finished second. I think we know the answer.

The sooner this man calls it a day the better I've never trusted him he's a in house work rider.. #at it
  • I reckon he was riding with the ghost of Greville Starkey inside him!

Havlin and Gosden have been at this for years and stewards have done nothing about. It’s one of the primary reasons this sport is in the financial state it is in. You never know when horses are running on their merits unless it’s a G1 or top handicap.
  • Worse incidents occur everyday without ever being punished. Disgrace that he didnt get the horse up yes but not uncommon for horses on debut to be given half hearted educational rides without any consideration for punters.

I backed the winner so I'd like to personal thank Mr Havlin for his wonderfully timed ride to not go past. I know you were only "educating" the horse ;) Enjoy your 21day holiday and splash out a little on money you received from the layers.

Its a very strange ride, early on he does enough on the horse to get the best position from a low draw just in behind the leader, he's travelling as well as or maybe even better than the favourite for much of the race then from 4 furlongs out he does nothing, eventually trying to make it look like he's riding a finish in the last 50 yards, stewards right to ban him.

Look we all know Havlin has form for this, but the mistake he made this time was making it so obvious in what he was up to.
  • @liamquigley891
Yea coming round the hometurn he was clearly given the stable mate enough lead before letting the horse go, he should get longer its not the first time
  • @leighdobson2828
Nowhere near harsh enough in my eyes, should get some kind of fine aswell for them kind of rides. Clearly fixed!
  • @rodneymckee8431
Never mind the jockey what about the trainer what does he have to say.
  • @craigbarber3981
This is easily eradicated, ban him for 2 years and this would seldom happen in racing. The softly softly approach needs to end. I hope the jockey looks at this race and realises how punters see him as not only a cheat but someone who is damaging such a wonderful sport. Shame on you!!
