When visiting the British Virgin Islands, The Baths is located on the southern tip of Virgin Gorda and is a must-see experience that will be the highlight of your trip. Must head to the baths as early as possible. The earlier the less amount of people When you first arrive there is a fee of $3 for adults and $2 for children You have to walk down a beautiful pathway to the base and entrance to the massive collection of massive granite boulders as large as 40 feet in diameter. There are many secret rock pools. To help you navigate through the pools of water, which are pretty shallow and crystal clear, and lots of hidden caves. there are rope handrails and stairs. Over the years, forces of nature sculpted and eroded the rocks and created narrow passages and hidden chambers. There is a legend that Pirates once used this place for secret hideaways and smuggling. After being here, yes, it is the ideal spot for pirates to hide their booty from prying eyes and thieves. I wonder if there is buried treasure here….hmmm, something to think about When you come to the baths, you need to be wearing sturdy water shoes, as you will be spending a lot of time in the shallow waters and then climbing through, over, up and down the boulders. The water was clear and warm. You will be ducking down to make it between the boulders. Yes, they may sound a little on the difficult side, but it isn’t too bad. Take your time and soak in the beauty and make some memories. On the way back you will walk along a trail and it is uphill but when you arrive award yourself with a tasty cocktail or rum punch. The views from the top are spectacular!
