Poseidon Sinking

As someone who's spent a lot of time around ships and the sea in general, the sounds of the ships creaking and sounds as it sinks honestly aound like its growing in pain and is crying.

Let's be honest. The design of this ship was amazing

Imagine the news after: Poseidon ocean liner sinks after rogue wave capsizing it; 6 survivors; thousands dead

What gets me is the sounds that the ship makes as she goes down, the groaning of metal and other sounds. The final death scream of the Poseidon and the thousands who died with her.

The reason being the Poseidon flipped back over is because the survivors turned the ballast tank on which triggered the other tanks in stabilizing the balance. Once she did flip she was too flooded to stay afloat and sank quickly.

Because of my love for ships, this part is the most sad one for me. She made one last gasp, and faded away.

Very few ships die alone. That's why in their final moments, they seem alive. That's why it feels like the Poseidon is giving the survivors one final look before the ocean claims her. It's as if the ship is saying, "Remember me."

The scariest part is thinking there could have been other survivors in that ship who couldn't make it out in time and are trapped down there sinking forever to their dark watery death

You know. What’s the saddest part about this scene that wrenched my heart is that... as the survivors, who made it out alive, were watching the cruise liner sank into the bottom of the ocean, they remembered those who perished. The passengers who died during the capsizing. The survivors who tragically perished in the ballroom. The waiter who voluntarily acted as their map to guide them through the damaged, hazardous ship but suffered a tragic death. The lucky, arrogant guy who got unlucky but didn’t really deserve to die. The woman, who has a fear of extremely tight, enclosed space, who couldn’t see her younger brother in New York. And last but not least, the former fireman turned former mayor of New York who sacrificed his own life to help the remaining survivors get out of the ship before it sank. Thinking about these tragic deaths made me realize how this scene in the end is so emotionally heartbreaking and whenever I rewatch or think about it, the wrenching, sad feeling is there. 💔 And you know what’s the worse part? Is that as the survivors watched the ship as it sank, the dead bodies of the passengers were all still inside. They all never got a proper burial. The ship took them with it. And as it disappeared into the dark abyss, the sound disturbed me a bit as it seemed like the ship was saying ‘I’m taking all of them with me. You will never see them again.’ 😨 Those who died that night will never be seen by those who are living at the surface... ever again. 💔

I guess the choppers and rescue ships saw the Poseidon's final moments

There’s something about this scene that make it feel like the saddest moment in the whole movie. It’s strange because there are lots of moments where actual people die and the ship is not technically alive but it hits different. There’s a sense of finality to it. It’s almost like the ship itself was a character and this is its death scene.
