Lana Del Rey - West Coast (Lyrics)

Down on the West coast, they got a sayin'
"If you're not drinkin', then you're not playin'"
But you've got the music
You've got the music in you, don't you?
Down on the West coast, I get this feeling like
It all could happen, that's why I'm leaving
You for the moment, you for the moment
Boy Blue, yeah, you

You're falling hard, I push away, I'm feelin' hot to the touch
You say you miss me and I wanna say I miss you so much
But something keeps me really quiet, I'm alive, I'm a lush
Your love, your love, my love

I can see my baby swinging
His Parliament's on fire and his hands are up
On the balcony and I'm singing
Ooh baby, ooh baby, I'm in love
I can see my sweet boy swaying
He's crazy y cubano como yo, la-la
On the balcony and I'm saying
Move baby, move baby, I'm in love
I'm in love (I'm in love)
I'm in love (I'm in love)

(Mic-check)
(One, two)
(Two, two)
(Get it, girl)

Down on the West coast, they got their icons
Their silver starlets, their Queens of Saigons
And you've got the music
You've got the music in you, don't you?
Down on the West coast, they love their movies
Their golden gods and Rock 'n' Roll groupies
And you've got the music
You've got the music in you, don't you?

You push it hard, I pull away, I'm feeling hotter than fire
I guess that no one ever really made me feel that much higher
Te deseo, cariño, boy, it's you I desire
Your love, your love, my love

I can see my baby swinging
His Parliament's on fire and his hands are up
On the balcony and I'm singing
Ooh baby, ooh baby, I'm in love
I can see my sweet boy swaying
He's crazy y cubano como yo, la-la
On the balcony and I'm saying
Move baby, move baby, I'm in love

I can see my baby swinging
His Parliament's on fire and his hands are up
On the balcony and I'm singing
Ooh baby, ooh baby, I'm in love
I can see my sweet boy swaying
He's crazy y cubano como yo, la-la
On the balcony and I'm saying
Move baby, move baby, I'm in love

I'm in love
I'm in love

imagine in 30 years when this song is considered vintage, that'll be wild

Therapy is expensive so I listen to Lana Del Rey.
  • I would give everything I have just to hear this song again like the first time.

The transition to the chorus is SO good it's almost obscene.

The bass line is groovy, the vocals and the harmonies are haunting and the whole vibe of the song screams old money

2012 and 2022 - Summertime Sadness 2014 and 2024 - West Coast Even after 10 years, Lana's songs sound divine

This song is very underrated. The transition between the chorus and the verse is the best I've ever heard. It literally makes you high.

Lana's voice makes me feel like I'm on drugs, thanks lana you're protecting us from drugs

Lana's voice is otherworldly. It makes you feel things you didn't know you could feel
  • @SoniaJavadi
Lana songs are psychological therapy for some, and a reason to see a therapist for others

It's absolutely criminal how this woman hasn't been awarded a Grammy yet. It really highlights how the recording academy doesn't actually award based on artistic excellence, they only award based on a musician's marketability and popularity that year. You'll only win if you've reached a certain level of radio success and generated a lot of money for the industry. The fact that Cardi B won a Grammy before Lana Del Rey is all the proof you need.

If you're reading this, congratulations, you have good music taste.

I really love the line: His Parliament’s on fire and his hands are up. While it also means his Parliament cigarette is lit, I like to think that it’s a metaphor: depicting chaos, betrayal, and the man’s vulnerability. Just my interpretation.

Her vocal performance is haunting, eerie and depressing yet poetic
  • @DutchMadness77
I can physically feel my heart rate drop as it transitions into the chorus
  • This isn’t a song, it’s an experience! The tempo switchups, her vocals and the instrumentation….heavenly

One of the best and most iconic songs ever made! This song gives me beautiful melancholic vibes, espesially the video. Yet so many untalented people have Grammys and Lana still doesn't have any! She is so underrated

Прошло 9 лет с момента выхода этой песни, и я заявляю, что ни одна другая песня не западала мне так в сердце, как эта! Лучшая песня навсегда 🤍
