"The louder the noise the more expensive the repair job". Good one Handy.

For the $3000 price tag it almost sounds like they practically quoted to replace the entire furnace unit. Where I live I just helped a friend replace his forced air furnace. The 2 local heating contractors quoted him $4100 and $4450 respectively which I thought was fairly inline with current prices but he decided to replace it himself and he bought a new unit for $2200 and we were able to swap it out over the course of about 3-4 hours.

Good job Handy! You are truly a Jack of all Trades. A man after my own heart. 😎 HVAC is an industry that is famous for overcharging and shady dealing. An honest HVAC company can make bank.

I bet for 3000 you could get a lifetime supply of little squirrels 🐿️ to run around that cage to keep them cool 😎 It’s just 🥜 !!! 😂 Go Handy Go!
  • @richlikeg3722
Damn, I charged 1500 for a family friend to change his evaporator coil. That took the whole damn day too.
  • @tomlammers9861
keep in mind the pricing will vary quite a bit depending on where you are located and your clientele. I am in iowa and 1500 would be on the high side but still not extreme.
  • @adeladahdah4418
Lucky people they are when they call you handyman! You are the Best!
  • @pipi7731
$1500 you got to be kidding me. How much was the fan part? I might have done it for nothing if he paid for the part or maybe $100 bucks.
  • @billcv80
I’m a licensed HVACR guy in Florida. Good for you sir. I am slammed, charge reasonable prices and make a decent living.
  • Irrelevant of the 'crimp' connections from the blade to the wheel something was obvious;e dropped into the blades to cause the failure. What was that? I don't buy the filter excuse, that looks more like a screwdriver was dropped from above.

Handy we need the Mexican resteraunt music over the work footage
  • @duanewilson3941
I had a problem with 3K, not so much with $1,500. You have travel time and I doubt you knew exactly how long it was going to take to fix so you have to factor that in along with all the other expenses that go along with being self employed which have all skyrocketed along with everything else.
  • Worked on a house that had decades of smoker tar build up inside HVAC, was a terrible day. Ashtray smell haunts me. Bet it took days off my life.

  • @70qq
in Kentucky our HVAC company is called expensive and we would do it for $337-700 , depending on the cost of the blower wheel ...... and like others have said , that wheel was destroyed by something very hard getting sucked into the furnace (probably due to lack of filter) ....dust/dirt isnt gonna dent and destroy a wheel like that
  • @point1er
I took mine out about a month ago, to clean the blades they had a lot of caked on dirt. Now It blows more air well at least it feels like it 😂
