Tha whole time during Tha video I was like "ohhh so that's wat I did wrong"
  • We are given free basketball sessions in my school. However, most of the time our coach tells us to pick a ball and do whatever we want. I'm glad I found actual lessons on youtube.
  • I'm learning basketball, and I can't get my shooting posture correct because I do ballet, so my hips automatically go straight down >.< I have to break a eight year habit of Ballet body structure...

Everyone thank you for your comments and follows.  I have just released a shot analysis service that you can check out here on my website: courtsidewithjulz.com/shot-analysis/ Share it with somebody who could use some help with their shot!

Recent I found that pushing the elbow UP is the key. Exactly what is addressed in this video. There are many tutorials for shooting skills, but few of them put emphasis on motion of elbow, which I think is the most key to achieve good shooting. Best video for shooting practice. Just do as she said: Pushing the elbow up, not out. Everything becomes so easy.
  • I couldn't shoot a ball even if I tried. Thanks so much! I now can play with my friends without being bad anymore!

Our basketball coach (I'm in 7th grade) sent us to your channel to watch your shooting videos. I'm actually really impressed!! You did really great. You helped me improve my shooting. Thanks!

I know this is 12 years old now, but I've watched a few videos this week and this has been the best one. Simple and easy to follow instructions and explanations. I can shoot pretty good because I played like crazy as a kid. It's been 20 years since I've shot any hoops, but my 8yo daughter wanted to start playing basketball, so we've been going to the Y. I got right back into the rhythm of things and my skills are pretty darned on point for a 41yo dude who hasn't picked up a basketball in forever. Keeping in shape with various other sports and activities I'm sure helped. But i didnt really know how to teach the mechanics of shooting. This video broke down the mechanics awesomely. Other videos showed me how to teach the kiddo basic drills and stuff. We watched this video together right before going to the Y tonight, and she walked onto the court and made two shots in a row! Then she continued to be far better than shenhas the last few nights. She was pumped! Thank you nice blonde lady! I hope you're doing well nowadays.
  • This has been the best shooting video so far. I've been trying to find some good instructional videos. I've always played bball for fun, but now my 11yr old twins want to learn. This has been very helpful. Thanks!

I saw this video almost 10 years ago and have since recommended it to any and all teammates I’ve come across and have referred to it myself over and over again✌🏼 This is an extremely underrated guide no 🧢

This video changed my basketball game about 8 years ago. I wish I had discovered it in high school. Can’t imagine how thankful I am, I improved more in one summer just watching this video than 4 years in high school.
