Watch me coach Skoottie through the first 12 Antes of this seed here:    • The Infinite Point Hand
High Ante and High Score Playlist:    • Balatro Science

We try Perkeo again on a set seed this time. Not only are we able to score "infinite" points, but we're able to do this repeatedly, round after round, allowing us to reach Ante 39, where the score required to win is also "infinite."

  • Thank you! Amazing how Balatro turns from a rogue-like deckbuilder to a computer science problem
  • @Qaser7
What a wild ride, even Mr. Bones got on here.
  • @emeraldnickel
Can't believe we hit the Balatro killscreen already. Well played!

1.8e308 is infinity is because it’s the biggest number that can be stored “as a double precision floating point variable in 64-but computing” and it’s also the hard limit to how big a number can be in Computing before you need extra libraries or using a different kind of number system. A double precision floating point is just thing that can calculate numbers faster and more precise than its single version but but is a slower calculation. (Not stolen from r/antimatter dimensions). Tl:dr 1e308 is before too big for game unless you code to make bigger numbers

you heard it here, folks. Mr Bones confirms it. Infinity is not 25% of Infinity.
  • @alaeriia01
I feel like Balatro should have a "zen mode" where you can optimize your build without having to worry about the exponential increase in blinds.

for those who are confused on the aspect of what these numbers mean at the end: naneinf would be "not a number exponent inf", or naneinf. whilst infinity is here, "not a number" takes precedence, and thus naneinf = nan, but why would that not register? nan isn't a number, its the absence of one. its effectively setting these variables without any default at all, so the game simply moves on to the next script.

i think it would be funny if mr bones was just explicitly coded to work in the nan / nan comparison, to technically allow you to reach ante 40
  • @FuscaBat
Thanks to your 300 cards, I've now noticed that the deck's thickness depends on how many cards you have in there. We can only see one and a half tags because of your tall deck!
  • The funniest recent trend in gaming lingo has been "technique" being abbreviated to "tech" which then was elongated into "technology"

a true test of an immovable object vs an unstoppable force

Glad to hear that you had a good time with Skoottie, it was a pleasure seeing you there as well
  • @joshwhalen17
Not enough infinite rooms for the required infinite hotel guests.
  • Balatro update: added a "You win?" Message when a player loses after failing to hit Ante 39
  • @Sefcear
man died to a small blind lol
