GloRilla brings her vibrant energy to Club Shay Shay, discussing her latest hit song and her journey from Memphis to the music industry limelight. She opens up about her new album, navigating the balance between confidence and self-consciousness, and the influence of Yo Gotti's mentorship on her career trajectory after signing to his Memphis based label, CMG. GloRilla shares candidly about the pressure and overthinking that comes with releasing new music, but also the liberating feeling of letting go of expectations and doing things for the approval of herself rather than others. In a hilarious moment, she convinces Shannon to try wine for the first time, adding a touch of spontaneity to the conversation. GloRilla reflects on how haters fuel her determination and reveals her strategy for handling criticism with the support of friends and family. From Michael Jackson to Katt Williams, GloRilla dives into the commercial expectations of the entertainment industry while sharing anecdotes about meeting LeBron James and her admiration for Kobe Bryant. She candidly discusses her love for the Pittsburgh Steelers and why Shannon was once an opp of hers, the ideal first date, and her unique family dynamics, including her supposed cousins Lil Uzi Vert, Cardi B, and Tiger Woods. GloRilla’s upbringing with 10 siblings was much different than most, and she dives into her mother’s extremely religious background and why she was never allowed to have friends over as a child. From her Top 5 rappers of all time to who she wants to collab most with in the music industry, GloRilla shares all of her feelings for the music industry. From her failed experiment as a weed dealer to working numerous odd jobs to becoming one of the hottest names in the rap game, GloRilla's journey is filled with humor, heart, and a raw authenticity that shines through in every story she shares on this episode of Club Shay Shay.

Is it just me or does Glo give “favorite cousin” vibes!!!
  • Shannon has a real gift of making anyone feel comfortable talking to him.
  • @MJi630
There has never been a greater response to his introduction than, "You just made me remember who da fu@k I am!" 😂

I like how Unc was lowkey giving Glo advice throughout the interview on handling stardom, pressure, and repeating success. Real Unc vibes fasho 😂🖤

You know what? I realized why some ppl hate on Shannon. Dude is PERSONABLE!!! He brings out the “human” in ppl. It’s 2024, we no longer want the same, obvious questions as other ppl have asked. Club Shay Shay opens the door for the questions we wanted but didn’t realize it!

I can tell she is at peace with herself...I don't know if it's just me, but she seems like she is the most honest person ever. Just the way she speaks you can tell.

Glory to God! Her telling her Mom to ‘repay’ her with prayer is a beautiful thing. Glo middle name ain’t Hallelujah for nothing! ❤🙏🏿❤
  • Unk and Glo’s energy was EVERYTHING! I have cackled the entire video🖤😹🖤
  • I love how Uncle Shay can talk hood and southern but also keep it formal😂
  • Her story is really inspiring, she lost everything. Didn’t have a place to live, a car, any money BUT STILLL KEPT GOING! and for the friends who were there for her when she need a pick me up, somewhere to stay, rides etc. it paid off. God, allowed her to see who was really down for her before she reached the top.

  • @pianoman2215
I wasnt too familiar with GloRilla, but 90 minutes later found her thoughtful, witty, honest and refreshing! Great interview that could’ve been longer.

I’m so proud of you Shannon. You left that old tired white dude that thinks he knows sports, and just steamrolled over everyone in the podcast game. 🤘 go ahead big brotha.
  • @Bree0074

I love how even though she had struggles growing up, you can tell she had happiness and love in her upbringing and she not resentful but I sense gratefulness and humbleness from her. She confident too, beautifully mastered ❤
