Face ID is so fast, I thought my phone was unlocked all the time. It literally unlocks as I reach for it. Crazy fast!

i'm bookmarking this video. I'm purchasing my 12 next week. and I'm upgrading from a 6s so I'm totally new

Upgraded from 5S to 12 - love it so far but so much to learn and your video really helped. Will be referring to it again. Thank you.

Enjoyed your great guidance on setting up my iPhone 12. While I have had the blue iPhone 12 for nearly a month, your tips about keeping your home screen apps down to those you need most; about adding home screen widgets; and about how dark mode saves battery life were very worthwhile. I’ll check out your battery saving recommendations as well, Brandon. Thank you.
  • @simmile100
This was very thorough! Thank you for making this video as I upgraded from an iPhone 7 and there were some things I never knew.
  • @mikecausey5287
It's smart, concise direct/to the point vids like this that make learning a pleasure. Not a bit of wasted time... do yourself a favour and watch ! Thank you Brandon, well done ! And yes, I will be looking at your other offerings too !!!

So far for first impressions (I came from an iPhone 7 so take this with a grain of salt) the screen looks amazing, so far the battery charges fast and doesn’t drain very fast, perfect size for me, and it’s shape is very comfortable
  • @LeandroM1tchel
But Brandon...😂😂🙌🏾let me take my popcorn 🍿
  • That was great. For someone that is not technically inclined you showed me a lot of stuff. Thank you
  • @brydcsd
Thanks Brandon!!! Just got my new iPhone 12 Pro Max. And I immediately searched for the first things to do tips on YouTube and brought me here. Thanks heaps! Big help.
  • I bought Iphone 12. I was an android user and switched to iOS... It’s really awesome.
  • @wellgranted
Upgraded from my 7 to the standard 12 a few days ago and am loving it. I got the blue 64GB but only because I primarily use iCloud. It’s been wild to get used to having so much screen and how fast everything operates.

Great tips. I migrated from the 6S, so this new phone was initially steep. My hobby horse is lanyards. When I got the 6S in 2015 I couldn't figure out how to carry it. I immediately put it in a LifeProof case so I could carry it while sea kayaking. I ended up hot gluing a couple of string loops to the back bottom of the case and then tied these on a piece of parachute cord as a lanyard around my neck. Worked great; my students, couldn't wait to let me know how stupid it looked. Fully 1/3rd of their phones had cracked screens at any one time. "I climbed mountains all over Japan with my phone hanging from my neck - no problem." For the new iPhone 12 pro max, I wanted to upgrade. In 2015/16 there were no lanyards for smart phones (except the waterproof baggies. Not one of the cases at the Apple store even had an attachment point.) Now there are lanyards but it seems they're where I was at the beginning of figuring this out five years ago. This time: 1/4" webbing. Sewn loops at the bottom, small cheap (Not the better quality) carabiners. These clip on to webbing oops extending from the back/bottom of the case (Survivor) . Roughed up areas on the back of the case. I used 5200 glue, but hot glue worked for the last one. I hang the strap over the left side of my neck, down my back so it hangs off my right side by my hip. It's always at hand, never in the way, and it can't fall out of a pocket. Near the top of the strap I sewed a loop (at my sternum) that I attached another carabiner to. On the back of the case I left one of the glued straps a bit high in the middle (balance) of the case. It has a carabiner attached to it. Now when I want to automatically record video (a crooked car rental place, crimes, etc...) I can quickly turn on my camera, then attach the two carabiners together and I've got a body cam. By not holding it up it's less conspicuous. Hope this is at least interesting. I don't think it's all that unique, except no one seems to be doing it. Happy to share any of this with anyone who is interested.

I went from a 6s to the 12 pro max. I've had it less than a day but already love it. I'm not a techie guy so your video was super helpful, thank you.
