From S04E23 of Castle; Entitled "Always"

Warning: Contains scenes from "Always" which aired May 7, 2012
If you have not seen the episode yet, please do not watch!

This scene breaks my heart, but they finally address what they've been skirting around since last season's finale! It is so wonderfully written and executed. Stana and Nathan deserve an Emmy for this!

Synopsis: Castle finally tells Kate that he's been holding things from her. He's been intentionally keeping her from her mother's case. He tells her why!

Memorable Quotes:
"Four years, I've been right here. For years. Waiting for you to open your eyes and see that I'm right here!" Castle to Beckett

"How the hell could you do this?" Beckett

"Because I love you. But you already know that, don't you? You've known for about a year now." Castle

"Every morning I bring you a cup of coffee, just so I can see a smile on your face. Because I think you are the most remarkable, maddening, challenging, frustrating, person I've ever met. And I love you Kate, and if that means anything to you, if you care about me at all, just don't do this." Castle to Beckett

**Remember to like or favorite if you think Stana Katic and Nathan Fillion deserve an Emmy!!!!

"Everyday I bring you a cup of coffee just to see you smile" That has got to be the sweetest thing Castle has said to Kate. :')
  • The way his voice gets higher when he says he's been here for four years waiting for her and all the little voice cracks break my heart because you can tell he's fighting a wave of tears. You can see them in his eyes. :( aw
  • “Just waiting for you to open your eyes and see that I’m right here!” My favorite line!

i love how when Castle says he loves her and Beckett says: "are you kidding me, you're actually bringing this up right now?" confirming that she has known all along how he feels about her, and that he knows that she knows!

After he leaves, you can tell by the look on her face, there is a hint of panic and regret. She's definitely fighting it, but she finally realized the finality of his words. He's done. He's not coming back. Stana is an incredible actress.

definitely one of the most powerful scenes of Castle. Their brilliant acting is undescribable!

She says the most important thing in her life is her mother's murder case....it's not him...and then he leaves and she realizes what the most important thing really is.  The dialog is great and well delivered, but the facial expressions say almost more than the words.
  • 6 months ago YouTube randomly recommended this clip on my page. I watched it. Next thing you know I'm buying the entire set of dvds and spend the next two months binge watching the series. Great show.

In this scene you can clearly see that Castle character has improved. You know, at the beginning he brought up Johanna's case just for him because he was selfish, as Beckett told him in 2x01. But now it's different. He wants to keep her away from the case because he loves her and he doesn't want her to get hurt or worse. Love changes everything.

Nathan Fillion always plays the smart-ass, funny, I-don't-care-about-the world-kinda guy.  At least, that's how I knew him. But here he showed that he actually can act. Loved it!

The most remarkable thing is that these two actually didn’t get along at all in real life (at least not during this point of the show). Yet, they deliver simply everything. You can actually see the love, the hurt, the turmoil. You can see the depth of the character’s feelings for each other. It’s all there in their body languages, expressions, how they deliver the lines. It just shows how amazing they are at what they do. Anyone can memorize a script and parrot the lines, but set your self completely aside in order to fully embody the characters and their feelings? That’s something only great actors can do

The way she says "If i care about you?!" like "How could you even ask it?" Stana and Nathan are great <3

the look on her face after he said "I'm Done" she knew she fucked up
  • It's been like 8 (almost 9) years since this and I'm still tearing up and getting emotinal watching this. Along with Knockdown and Still, it's def one of the best acting moments on the show!!

Literally just noticed how good the writing was the fact that they both sat on important information for a year.
  • @SAWtabl3
