Limiting reactant is also called limiting reagent. The limiting reactant or limiting reagent is the first reactant to get used up in a chemical reaction. Once the limiting reactant or limiting reagent gets used up, the reaction has to stop and cannot continue. After the limiting reactant or limiting reagent is used up and the reaction stops, there is extra of the other reactants left over. Those are called the excess reactants. In this video, we'll first learn about limiting reactant and limiting reagent by comparing chemical reactions to cooking recipes. We'll look at how to calculate limiting reactant and limiting reagent using cooking ingredients, and then looking at an actual stoichiometry problem,

My chemistry teacher has a PhD and has taught for 20 years, but he can't top your cheeseburger method man.

The reason this guy is so good is because he does not assume you know anything before the lesson. Most teachers assume students have prior knowledge on topics and that all kids are the same. This leads to kids no understanding how a teacher did a certain step when teaching. This eventually leads to a snowballing effect, as without that step the rest of the problem does not make sense. I really cant thank you enough for these videos as they have helped me a ton. I'm here studying before my chem final and I know I am more prepared after watching these videos.
  • Tyler Dewitt should get a Nobel peace prize for doing this fantastic public service. This is without doubt, the very best set of chemistry lessons, with the "most effective method", and with the simplest tools imaginable, just a piece of white paper, a marker, and infinite patience of someone who understands, and empathizes with struggling students. I'm ecstatic after many years of endless frustration trying to teach myself chemistry. It's been driving me bonkers. Tyler has broken through the barriers that plagued me. It's just a matter of pride for me to become fluent in all sciences, and Tyler has opened the doors to success for millions like me. It's his manner, his slow methodical calm demeanor, and repetition, without getting cocky running all over as if everyone gets it the first or second, or third time the way the instructor does. That's just not reality. Many great scientists, had to take years of chemistry, and repeat courses numerous times to meet the standard of their degree. It doesn't matter as much how difficult it is, or how long it takes you to get it, as long as you get it, before you hope for your degree. Thanks Tyler, you should get the Nobel, or at least chemistry teacher of the decade. For you young punks who want a hot girlfriend, a nice house, and a Beemer, $$$ Better pay attention.

my mom saw me watching this guy talking about burgers and bread rolls, instead of studying for my finals. Mom, it's not like that. it's chemistry, you just need to wait for it. it's really chemistry mom!

  • @sethdaigle2284
I’ve learned more chemistry in this 17minutes than I did in my 50minute college course
  • @nigglyboy7418
His smile is the cutest thing I've ever seen. I love how much passion he has for teaching <3

I took honors chemistry my sophomore year of high school and I can’t thank you enough for these chemistry videos. Seriously, thank you. You were basically my real chemistry teacher.

If there was a prize for Youtubers who contribute the most to society, Tyler would be a fitting recipient. Literally saving me 2 nights before my exam
  • @jictapus8559
I'm here for most of everyone else's reason. My teacher didn't explain it correctly to the class. This video helped me understand completely! Thanks!
  • I am an Indian and I will be giving the toughest medical exam of India and I was so worried about thus topic because it' one of the most asked one but let me tell you something man, you made this complex thing SOOOOOO easy which my teachers and many teachers on YouTube could not do. Great job man, great job 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Thank you so much... you're the reason I'm passing Chemistry. Is there any way to donate to your cause? Seriously, you're one of the best Chemistry teachers. I have struggled in this subject for a while and all of my professors have been ZERO help! I wish there were more Chemistry educators out there that truly cared about teaching like you do.

This guy getting me through college. I love him.
  • @maryem5733
This is what teaching should be, some teachers love to over complicate things, making it hard to understand, but you make the explanation so simple and logical, these videos are awesome
  • @KovidaChhikara
Honestly, the way he taught wAs amazing!! Plus why are all the comments from like 3 years ago is nobody doing chem these days?
