Actually, worker bees are all female. Male bees stay in the hive and mate with the queen so she can lay eggs. During the winter, they actually sometimes get rid of the male bees since they don't have enough recources in the hive, which is why you can sometimes see a few dead male bees next to bee hives. 👍
