  • Always a pleasure to see one depart his Dhalamshala and continue the pilgrim's march to Tone Henge. Great video! Very informative! Thanks and Cheers!

Very interesting and informative project and video. Plus it's good to see people developing in FOSS software instead for getting locked into paid or self obsoleting software. And sharing it on github is just icing on the cake. I'll add it to my lifelong list of things I need to get too. Been on a multiyear ham radio sidetrack!

I'm currently running one of these Chinese made tube preamps on my small system followed by a Class D amp. I changed the plate load resistors to raise the bias point right into that curve to get the 2nd harmonic a bit stronger. Wow! Such a warm flavor to the sound! Tubes are 5654Ws. Sharp cutoff pentodes. Beautiful sound too!

I was curious if there is a follow up from your HV-SMPS video... Here it is, great again, thanx šŸ‘šŸ‘
  • I've never heard of anything like this before. Where/How did you get this idea? Cool man! šŸ¤ŸšŸ˜Ž
  • I'm not sure I'm asking a question that makes any sense, but if we are married to the supply voltage (225v), realistically, how high can the bias current be with the components being used in this circuit? And is higher better? Thanks!
  • How would the biasing work with the cathode tied directly to ground?
  • Just wondering.... why not LTspice? (If it is com support; there is a IO support group.) Maybe it the integration into Python? ... but there are some libraries that support that. One other question.. if I may... how well do you trust the model? (I guess the proof is in the pudding... or at least the final amp prototype.) Best regards, and thanks for the vid.
