Don't forget that you can buy my books and materials for your own experiments including our conductive inks at secure.workingink.co.uk/working-ink-shop/ - and for the many who have asked, yes, you can also donate to further our work, again through the shop.

"...let me show you how it works.." a perfect segway to a german voice "... let me show you its features..." I love your videos mate. Thank you.

I think the series of the copper coating steel is How To Make Copper Nanoparticles Suitable For Ink Jet Printing and Photonic Sintering Easy Copper Plating Of Steel Copper Plating Without A Battery Copper Nanoparticles In Gelatin Copper Coating Stainless Steel Yt comments don't let me directly link, but you can search in the channel videos for those names.

I once accidentally copper coated part of a plastic pipe fitting when 2 copper wires touched with 240 ac near the pipe, it was plasma coated and look pretty good.

This is pure alchemy! Love it!

Coating steel with copper is a bit cheaper with copper sulphate solution. Electroplating steel with copper sulphate makes the copper coating thicker on the steel, so thick that you can even polish it with a soft rag or a polishing wheel.

I'll have to search for that video. Very cool way to get the copper look without sacrificing the strength. Thanks Rob.

Awesome! I love the look of copper, brass, stainless and aluminum. Copper fenders and plates look great!

Great info Mr. Robert! I was just browsing how to electroplate steel. Particularly, my knife guards and GoPro knob screws for underwater footage... Naturally, after which I would plate it with zinc or nickle. This method beats it because I always get rust due to salt electrolyte. It's always nice to see simplicity in action. Cheers!

That was mind bogglingly fast!

Oh Wow! That is absolutely Awesome 😎 Friend. Thank You🙏🏼 so kindly for making the video and sharing/showing us.👍🏼✌🏼

Bloody fantastic 👏. Yet another one to make. Really interested to see what this can do mate. Thanks

Looks like a tidy finish. Thanks for sharing.

Absolutely brilliant Rob 👏 thanks.

Thank You Robert and Thumbs up! 👍

There is a type of copper steel. It’s composite copper both top and bottom and the middle is steel as you need such as carbon steel/stainless steel or others. And the price is less than half of copper but there are not affected on its performance

THIS IS AMAZING!

I searched through your videos and couldn't find the one where you describe making copper formate paste for plating. Could you link it in the description?
-
That's amazing how it worked without electrolysis. Of course, in the video, this copper plating solution looks really thick like paint. Maybe it was copper paint?

This is a great looking copper coating, and a much better application than sheet copper or brass. I sort-of wish you'd done the entire frame that way. If you're interested in a verdigris look, I understand that liquid orchid fertilizer spray will artificially age the appearance of copper. I think that the orchid food is acidic, and I'm sure there's probably a simpler chemical way to oxidize the surface.

That's intriguing. How thick can you make the copper plating? How well does it adhere to the steel and to itself? It would maybe make a good protective coating for steel left outside.
