SCP-957 - Baiting (SCP Animation)

Published 2021-12-15
SCP 957 is a Keter Class anomaly also known as Baiting.

SCP-957 is a humanoid entity currently residing within a house in Kentucky.
SCP957 does not appear to require sleep or nourishment. Interaction with personnel has shown that the entity is capable of speech and is fluent in English, but prefers to talk in a currently unknown language.

SCP-957 will always reside in a house inhabited by a single human, hereby designated SCP-957-1.
Once every month, SCP-957-1 will go into crowded areas and feign distress due to its blindness. It appears to do this in order to deceive people into helping it back to its house.
SCP-957 will approach the human, and a black spherical barrier will surround the two subjects.
This structure usually remains in place for approximately five (5) hours; however, it has been noted to demanifest as early as thirty (30) minutes after manifestation and as late as twenty-seven (27) hours after manifestation. The human normally appears to have undergone extreme physical alteration during this time2. In 30% of observed cases, the human is reduced to piles of organs seemingly organized by their respective biological system. SCP-957 usually then uses these remains to prepare a meal for SCP-957-1. The other 70% are taken to the fireplace of the house and burned.

  • A creature that preys on the innate kindness of humans...that's not just cruel, it's utterly evil.
  • You be surprise how many people ignore someone needing help especially in public. It’s not an anomaly. More of something called the bystander effect, and many SCPs like baiting merely takes advantage of those who don’t fall under the bystander effect
  • @MrMementoMori
This SCP is one heartbreaking read. This made me sad yet scared at the same time.
  • Me to myself while watching all these videos everyday “It’s not an addiction I swear”
  • Every time you say "The Old man" i get flashbacks from containment breach
  • The Good Samaritan is so naive. It didn't even need to be an SCP to be dangerous. It could have even been some thief with a gun.
  • @xShadowNinjaEX
I feel like the fact that the old man literally had no eyes should be the number 1 sign of run for your damn life

957 when his servant doesn't catch the victim: "fine, ill do it myself"
  • @Dr.C.Shadow
He brings his servant home by himself, when no one does it. He doesn't like it so much, though. He's sorta able to teleport through shadows and has a pleasent English accent in his voice. His other speech... Is one that already died. I think he tries to turn the people he cooks to people like himself. (that's what his sibling and he are trying). He's pretty cold to his servant if it dies. He makes no attempts to help it... Just leaves. Also is the transformation of the guy that is his servant goes through invisible through a fog that Baiting creates. One time it wasn't created and showed that the victim was trapped in a kind of vase and that beings worked on it until they became as they were now. People think that Baiting has been a companion all their lives and that they have always been blind. They don't want to touch Baiting under any circumstances. And Baiting comes only to people that are all alone.

Ok, whoever did the voice of SCP-957 is legitimately scary. Well done.
  • @krisi90
Hea really good at baiting, i guess you could call him the master baiter
  • @darkpit37
"He never once stopped to question the strangeness of this whole situation" To be fair, it wasn't actually all that strange towards the beginning. Edit: after watching more of the video, I've determined that the part where it actually becomes strange in a suspicious way is when he yells "sweetheart! I've got you a live one!" The empty eye socket thing right before that is rare and weird, but not necessarily in a suspicious way.
  • I love how much effort they put in giving the voices their own identity and character.
  • @person1232
I guess you could say that SCP 957 is a real Master Baiter!

The SCP fundation should check up on the buss that delivered the old man at 1:54, its clearly anomalous as it is apparently British design in but not on British roads as the doors are on the wrong side yet has the anomalous property of still being able to offload passenger trough its walls on the right side of the road. That or whoever bought these buses somehow found some very strangely designed busses with passenger doors on both sides. (Yes, I am just making some light fun on the animation mistake, no worries, its in good spirit. Probably used a standard buss model there and missed that it displayed the curb side, not the roadside of the buss).
