I was wierdly obsessed with The Prodigy for about a year of my life, I didn't think other people knew its existed because it came across as such an underground film, even as a kid

Both of these movies feel like D&D campaigns: the prodigy is DMd and played entirely by well-meaning beginners, and panda warrior is run by a devious troll who had a bit too much to smoke.

Fun fact: Jack black actually started eating only bamboo to get fully in character for the movie. Sadly this was not good for him so his teeth broke/fell out and he died shortly after recording and was replaced with a clone

I think what actually happens in The Legend of Panda Warrior is that when Patrick falls off the cliff, the light coming from the necklace is actually the "light at the end of the tunnel" when you die, and Merryland is Hell. He died in cowardice and went to Hell for it. That's why he can't leave.
