Lol, Coconut Mall at begining, I love that! That is a very cool elevator system! Double decker never disapoints. That indicator showing how the double decker system works is probably the coolest feature these elevators have in my opinion.

0:51 The Aon Center looks quite a bit like the old WTC in the lobby as well. Look at those lights.
  • I was searching for “MCO (as in the airport) elevators” when this was recommended! Never figured I’d stumble across this! My dad worked here when he was Global Services Director for FMC Technologies! He eventually moved to another building in chicago when FMC Technologies spun off and became JBT Aerosystems in 2010 or 2011. He retired in 2012 (iirc). Sadly my father passed away suddenly in January of this year (2022) from cardiac arrest while blowing snow. Rest easy, dad! This (first) view’s for you, chief!

That reminds me of the work trade center

Wow!! Those things look wonderful. Schindler has been really impressing me lately. They are at the top of my favorite for high speed elevators. TK and Otis are right behind.

The Aon Building does resemble the original Twin Towers but it is not the same architect who built it. There is a half-sized exact replica of one of the Twin Towers that is 52 stories and 667 feet tall in Tulsa. It was built by the same architect who built the original Twin Towers.

Beautiful building. Like a Sister of WTC twin towers. I love to go on the top of it if they open a observation deck one day !

Very cool. The lobby setup definitely reminds me of First Canadian Place. Very nice elevators though. Ever been to the ones in 2 Prudential Plaza?
  • @SamSitar
    that floor indicator is impressive.

The lobby and building design looks too much identical to the twin towers lobby it's almost scary and nostalgic I wonder if a survivor would have a emotional time going into this building
  • Never seen an virtual analog indicator like ones at Taipei 101 used in office elevators like this

I worked at the AON bldg 20 yrs ago and the elevators were NOTHING like this! Would have made life so much better!!

I know that I’m a elevator enthusiast and I might get made fun of because I don’t know this but what is a double decker ? What’s the difference between that and a regular elevator ?
  • today I rode a 2000 FPM freefall drop ride that was 6 story tall for my senior class trip. it was fun. it went from 0 to 2000 FPM in 1 second
