  • @Kaynan06
Great video. I feel like to truly live in London comfortably, you have to earn north of 10k a month. The city is getting ridiculously expensive

I love the new setup! Insightful as always ✨

I have been following you since I was in year 13 and throughout my uni life. I have experienced a lot of the same things you have and I am impressed of you commitment to give personal updates. I truly think you will make your journey work. :)

That seems to be a quite reasonable rent price for London... here in Berlin I generally paid nearly that with multiple flatmates. Thanks for the insights - I'd love to live there for a bit one of these days. Good to have an idea of how to budget having a comparable lifestyle.

In London, knowing where to buy stuff to get the most out of your money is helpful, including leisure activities. But obviously sometimes you just gotta say fuck it and enjoy yourself. As a sidenote, being born in London makes TfL price rises hurt more, because you always have a reference to when it used to only be around 75p to take the underground (when you were younger than 18). And bus was effectively free.

I love your video! I’m looking for a post as a trainee lawyer and I also do amateur acting. My very small-time job doesn’t allow me to live on my own but I’ve been thinking a lot about doing my own accouting cause I think I spend too much.

You could be on £100k a year working full-time for a law firm but still be broke because you don't know what budgeting, forecasting and investing means as you live paycheck-to-paycheck and happily enjoy splashing your payslip on holidays, fine dining, gifts, alcohol and other non-essentials. I'm not implying you can't enjoy life and spend the money you've earned as you're an adult and have every right to, but there's a reason why so many people in this generation won't even think twice about upgrading to the newest iPhone, MacBook and ordering takeaway every night but still complain endlessly about cost of living, high rents and low salaries (yes, these are major issues that affect everyone too, but have they considered their own financial literacy?)

Hi Dylan, great video thanks for the expenses breakdown. Can I ask, whereabouts were you living in London as you can pay a lot more than that? And are you in commuting distance to London now you're back at your parents? Lastly, you gonna continue with the acting or try something else. Cheers

I live in zone 2 , 4 miles away from London centre . I’ve worked out I spend 1110 a month living with my girlfriend in our own place . This includes all Bills Shopping Spending money And Travel . But you have to take in to account I don’t go out drinking anymore , don’t have a car or kids yet . I cycle to work and take packed lunches . I can see how some can spend over 2000 easily
  • @olliecooper4232
I wonder how fast the WiFi was for that price. Mine is 380Mbps at home but certain areas can exceed 1GBps for home broadband
  • 😂😂😂😂😂 worth it but I think it is expensive living in London! Of course it all depends how much you earn and/or can pay. Good video thanks!
  • @q-tip_
Hey bro Any updates for mishaq, im curious to see how life played out for him since dropping out of a levels as im in a similar position in school and want to learn from his experience. Cheers
  • 1200 on food in a year?! Not sure on my annual but my weekly is close to 50 quid cant imahine how i could spend less - literally just supermarket
  • @Claire08T
I’ve spent close to 30k living in London this year 🤯
  • @ZZ-ou7gp
Mate....you lived very cheaply in London for a year. The baseline for living is around 24k per year. If you are living in London for that....then you are doing remarkably well....
  • Didn't you struggle to rent a flat while being self-employed? I am moving but see often landlords want us to be employed...

Hi Dylan can you please do a university video of City University of London
