This video chronicles the growing tension between two of the best 1500m runners in the world:
2021 Olympic Champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen (NOR) and 2023 World Champion Josh Kerr (GB).

In a sport where politeness and modesty are the norm, it's very rare to have two athletes openly criticize each other. Especially in distance running!

The focus here is on interviews but race footage and other information is included to provide the full context.

Enjoy :)

This is gonna be a great rivalry for the Olympics this summer. Definitely the most entertaining distance running has been in a long time

Kerr talks too much. It's a shame this all happened because it all seems to have started from the media twisting what Ingebrigtsen said about Kerr being the "next guy". What he said made sense and everything else in the interview was giving respect to Josh for running well. Media twisted it and created a beef. It doesn't help that Josh bites every time and has to have a dig. I feel for Jakob a bit because he never wanted this. He actually seems like a shy guy who just loves to win.

Both of these guys are hilarious and fantastic runners. Both decent deep down I think.
  • Josh says things in a way Jakob would never do. He makes projections on Jakob.
  • Math don't lie : Victorias en la Liga Diamante: Kerr: 1, Jakob: 13 Podios de la Liga Diamante: Kerr: 3, Jakob: 21 (Si solo contamos 1500m/milla) And the only two times Jacob lost against Josh You can see clear he was sick and the last time he was recovering from an injury. If Jacob is completely well, Josh lost again for sure. Thanks for the video. Agree with you @candiceverpaelst-ud3kk Jakob ingebrigtsen is a special athlete once in a lifetime

Heyo, where did you get the audio from @3:22? Can't seem to find it anywhere. Thanks!

Two great athletes and two great ego's. It's similar to Ovett and Coe, except that Coe was the obvious lesser liked of the two. I'm not to sure who's winning the popularity stakes between Josh and Jakob . The record shows Jakob is the better and more committed athlete. A lot of 800 and 1500 meter runners dread longer distances, but Jakob embraces them like a true runner. I am looking forward to see them run in the Olympics.

nice vid! you might want to make things more concise by only keeping key parts of interviews and some voiceovers to summarize long-winded info. just some suggestions!

I mean if I was verbal and physically abused by my father I probably wouldn’t like talking to one of his pupils eitherâ€Ķ.

Josh Kerr is a long way from being considered the greatest middle distance runner but his Ego is right there .i mean he is not Ali

It is very nice that Jakob has someone to push him to run even faster. I think we might even see a 3.26 this year. With good pacemakers that can hold 1200m and Nuguse on his heels I can see them both doing it. Not sure about Kerr. He might reach 3.27 on his peak.
  • @jayleppanen
Josh needs to run better PBs to be able to say he is a better athlete than Jakob. I mean, other than 800m, Jakob's PBs are better than Josh's.

Jakob is already on the top three podium his great Runner of modern Athletic history...
