I’ve been a fan of Beth’s since the first Portishead album “Dummy” was released in 1994 when I was 31. I’m 60 now and she has never let my ears, soul and heart down. This song, “Floating On A Moment” is a brilliant song which is right up there with all the great Portishead songs (which they basically all are). Beth is an artist’s artist. Her voice will always be one the best and most unique. There’s no one like her. ✌🏽❤️🌬️🍃

I never thought we’d get another Beth Gibbons album. This is the best news holy shit
-
This is proving to me I can still have faith in YouTube recommendations.
-
amazing that her voice still sounds as great as it did in the 90s
-
"It's not that I don't want to return..." You said it, sister.
-
Feel sad about getting older, this song just made me cry. “all I have is here and now” got me.
-
Beth’s voice is transcendental experience.
-
we love you, Beth. you were a part of our adolescence and thus, UNIQUE. you are still awesome. your voice is still like a summer breeze, like a mother's lullaby....greetings from Greece!

My sister passed away yesterday, and I was hoping to “get a signal” from her. She was the one to introduce me to Portishead when I was just a kid and she made me understand how genious it was. And I have memories of both of us singing your songs together. To see this song coming out on the same exact date of her departure, after so long, made me feel it was the sign I was looking for. 🤍

This is Lee Harris on drums, the old Talk Talk drummer and „wind maker“. The delivery of words: awesome. The song has a kind of folk-appeal where the simple meets the deep. On the kind side of „The Wicker Man“. Every line floats.

I can’t believe we’re getting new Beth gibbons songs omggggg
-
Voice-Crush since 1991. And there she is again.❤
-
Oh my... One of the best voices of music, hands down.
-
I’m going to listen to this song for the rest of my life.
-
I'm still obsessed with Out of Season. This is incredible 🤩
-
There’s no better way than waking up and listening to Beth’s new music… I absolutely love it and cannot wait to hear the new album come May. The only thing that could make my day better would be to learn Beth is touring state side, not just in Europe.
-
Thank you Beth, we’ve missed you

Floating on a Moment On the path With my restless curiosity Beyond life Before me A passenger On no ordinary journey It's one of a kind Won't get left behind I'm floating on a moment Don't know how long No one knows No one can stay All going to nowhere All going Make no mistake Without control I'm heading toward a boundary That divides us Reminds us Travelling On a voyage where the living They have never been Have never seen I'm floating on a moment Don't know how long No one knows No one can stay All going to nowhere All going Make no mistake All trying but can't escape All going to nowhere To afraid to be free Not that I don't want to return Not that I don't want to return (All going to nowhere, to nowhere) Oh, honestly It's not that I don't want to return (All going to nowhere, to nowhere) It just reminds us Not that I don't want to return It just reminds us that all we have All we have is here and now (All going to nowhere, to nowhere) But all we have is here and now (All going to nowhere, to nowhere) All we have is here and now (All going to nowhere) It just reminds us All we have is here and now (All going to nowhere)

Just received the today. This is so beautiful that it hurts, in a good way 😊

That's a breath of life in my soul. Welcome Back, Beth.
