I built my twin turbo Lamborghini Gallardo and wanted to take it on a special road trip to Barcelona in Spain, with my girlfriend @Hannah Smith . We checked the car throughly before the trip and found absolutely no issues. But as soon as we got off the ferry and arrived in Spain the Lamborghini decided to die on us. The issue is a mystery & we may need alot of your help to try and diagnose this as we could well and truly be stuck in Spain until we get the Lamborghini fixed

So what are we guessing guys? I’m still racking my brain as the car was 100% for the miles driven to Portsmouth yet as soon as we were off the ferry it decided to die 🤷‍♀️ strange…
  • It’s definitely the roof box mate. Lambo’s have a cut of switch when they are made to look like a camper van 😂
  • @TheDWGThe
The way he said Bilbao absolutely cracked me up 😂😂
  • My best guess would be the alarm system. Mine mulfuctioned 4 years ago. Did exactly the same as yours is doing now. Had an alarm system expert fix it, haven't had a problem since

Hay Matt, has the Lambos manufacturers tracker been disconnected as they come with one fitted and it will act like it is now to prevent it being sold abroad ? Hope you get sorted 👍🏼
  • @Thornkvist927
Have a safe journey guys. I can’t imagine how horrific it must be like too abandon a Lamborghini like that. Sending prayers from Sweden for that lambo to get to a full recovery soon.

Mat, my audi A5 had a similar issue when i took it to france. Nursed it around paris and when i got it back to the uk it was like nothing had ever happened. Turns out there was a oem factory gps on the car and you have to notify the manufacturer when making a trip overseas. Its to prevent cars being chopped and sold illegally. The tracker is located behind the glove box and spliced into the wiring harness of the car. I know you’ve got a lambo but they share the same engine and parts as audi.. maybe this is the reason as to why it’s letting u down?. Ether way i hope this helps. Best of luck

Such a positive attitude...polite and friendly to all...even when things go wrong....love it! We could all learn a little from this gem of a video.

That car looks way better with the bumper on! I'm gutted for you though with the break down! I hope you can get it back on the ferry without being towed though. I would say that shouldn't be done anyway being auto?
  • I reckon the bumper being on and all them shiny pipes and bigger turbo's, coupled with Spanish temperatures are causing excess heat giving you fuelling issues.
  • @curleman
With the bumper on it looks so much better, with the bumper off it looks like a job half done !
  • Matt & Hannah it’s all a great life experience and will give you entertaining stories to tell for years to come. Had a similar experience to yours in a 3.2 Audi, stuck with an unfashionable issue that I couldn’t get my head around and overthinking the problem. Managed to get to a local village mechanic who, in broken English said always start with the simple things first. He disconnected the battery for twenty minutes while we drank coffee, reconnected stated the engine and guess what, the rest of the 1500 mile trip was faultless. You two take care of each other. Peace Out ✌️
  • @dimetime35c
THANK YOU for putting the rear bumper on!!!!! It looks 1000 times better!!!! It honestly looks like a knock off kit car without the bumper.
  • "this lambo is a rocket ship" Aye, challenger. But this is why we do driving abroad. Because you broke down you met people, nice people, people you would have normally just flown over at 35000 feet.
  • @The_journeyy
Best thing matt did was put a bumper on there 😊 and he always seems to have issues when he goes on holiday with the cars
  • @TJ2212
Gutted for you guys, least you’ve got a sense of humour about it, enjoy your break 👏
  • @PK73
From having similar issues sounds like boost sensor issue faulters when on boost causing it to cut out. Try driving it off boost

I'd guess heat, fuel or electrical related - as after stopping for a while, the car starts and runs OK, until it stops again. Was it getting worse/stopping sooner each time? Plus it gets very cold in the middle of the sea, so the "damp" could be (frozen) salt water condensation. You have a bespoke car, so its not surprising it's got a few teething problems, but you can't analyze it properly without a laptop to connect it to = bet you never drive it long distance again without a laptop. I had a Hillman Imp once that would stop after a while - couldn't figure it out. Had bought it from my Dad, who said it was a fine car with no problems. It stopped on night in Bristol, so he drove down to rescue me, by which time the car was fine. I took his car, he took the Imp, and for the next few days it was fine. Then one night it stopped on him. He got it recovered home, and tried everything. As a last resort he took the carburetor apart, and found what could only be described as very smooth marbles. The Imp had a very low air intake, and we lived in the Cotswolds - so it was basically very fine Cotswold stone dust that had been sucked up by the air filter but stopped by the carb filter, that had got bigger and bigger until they stopped the fuel flow. You never forget the reason behind a difficult fault - Good Luck!
  • @HtKRP
Heat perhaps? Maybe in the UK the high pressure pump in struggling to fuel the car but colder climates the fuel will be more dense so easier to circulate. In Spain the fuel will less dense in hotter weather and perhaps harder work for the pump
