putting ground meat between bread is pretty intuitive. not crazy that multiple people came up with it around the same time.

The modern American hamburger was possibly invented by Charles Nagreen (Hamburger Charlie) in 1885 at a Outagamie County Fair. Prior to this, Hamburg Steaks were eaten either on their own or as an open-faced sandwich (Smorrebrod).
  • The fact those broilers are 118 years old and still working just goes to how how scumbag the industry has gone from best tough made to last to last two years and buy another, washing machines, phones, pcs, etc

It’s putting beef between 2 slices of bread, I’m sure he wasn’t the first one to make it
  • Sorry pal! But the reason it’s called a Hamburger is that sailors in the port of Hamburg used to eat beef patties between 2 slices of bread! German immigrants in America adopted this and called them Hamburgers! That’s also why Hot Dogs are originally called Frankfurters. As they originate from the German city of Frankfurt! FFS
