helllooooo, my name is AH-nuh-GRAY-uh ♥ disclaimer: I don't consider YouTube as social media ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (neither does clicking a link sent by a friend every blue moon count, hehe)

I hope you enjoy my one year update after being off of instagram, snapchat, twitter, etc... as gen z. in this video, I talk about my experience, pros, and cons of a social media hiatus and how it has impacted my life.

I hope this inspires someone to either take on this journey of deleting all social media, or maybe give some insight if you are contemplating logging off all apps because there are definitely both negatives and positives to both.

thank you so much for watching, I hope you enjoy ♥ I used to upload every sunday, but now that I'm back in school, working, etc... I am just uploading as I can ♥

xoxo,

I quit socials about 3 months ago. Best thing I ever did but I will say the cons do really hit at times 😭 Particularly the feeling out of loop and lonely sometimes. All in all though it’s helped me so much in so many aspects of my life. For instance I love myself a lot more ever since I left, didn’t realise how much I was comparing myself to other people before I left and I’m also way more focused and I’ve stopped procrastinating so much. I’m also just so much happier. But that thing about noticing who your real friends are is REAL. I had 3 friends left after leaving social media 😭 but even they don’t communicate as much.

this is so well made omg! i enjoyed watching every part of this
  • Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I desperately want to leave social media cause I'm soo addicted to it, I can fry my brain all day and afterall I don't want to do anything or even think. My mind feels emty and full at the same time. Without socials I am quite creative, I'm thriving witj my hobbies. All of this is the reason I want to leave, but at this moment I can't. I feel like all people related to a wedding are working only by using Instagram. At least this is true in my country. So currently I'm watching videos about leaving sm to get inspired. And I want to say that your video helps so much! Thank you❤
  • I've made the decision of giving a friend full access to my social media account.I asked her to change my password, so only she has access to the account. As a yoga teacher I use instagram as a tool to help advertise my classes, but overtime I definitely became too invested in consuming too much content (many of them were not even yoga related). I've always had an off-and-on relationship with social media, but this time I'm doing it for 6 months. I really want to see how it goes. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Watching this definitely helps me feel less alone in this journey.
  • I love you! Definitely makes me want to step away from social media a little or just use my phone less.

  • This video helped me so much thank you ! I deactivated tiktok and logged out of my instagram. I used social media for male validation and just validation in general. I want to work on myself and do better for myself
