It’s a sound and a style that is changing western music. Afrobeats – the fusion of African and international pop music is helping secure some of West Africa’s brightest stars a global audience. Jasmine Dotiwala speaks to Nigeria artist Wizkid about his career, his background and his influences.

    Man Wizkid is so lucky for having a supporting family who don't care too much about religion. When my grandad converted to christianity and married my grandma the local people in the ummah tried to kill him for becoming an apostate. It's encouraging to see such a warm message from Wizkid and really gives a lot of hope
