Joob's reaction really sold this project!!! I can relate. I've spent tens of dollars on cat toys, but my three prefer hair ties, Q-tips, and a broken plastic stick.

I think you need to make her a special box with different cardboard textures to scratch on the sides and an optimal loafing spot on the bottom 😂 she sure loves boxes

When Joob went for the cardboard square and Evan translated for her that this was her square he missed a perfect chance to tie back into the sponsor by translating into Joob saying, "this is my Square Space." lol

Cats typically need several days to a few weeks to become accustomed to a new toy/cat scratching post. She's likely not going to just start using it, but when she gets the urge to scratch, that's when you'll figure out which one is more suitable. I think yours will win in the end for many of the reasons you listed at the beginning. Cats like the resistance.

I'd be interested in an update on this after a week or so. Leave both out in different spots and see if she chooses one or the other to use. My cat usually refuses to pay attention to anything I make or buy for him until I've decided he doesn't like it. Then he's all interested.

What I’ve learned so far is that Amazon is a terrible place to buy spheres 😅. Those rubber balls are under $5 at Walmart and a foam ball would probably be cheaper at a craft store.

LMAO We need an update in a later video of whether or not Joobie uses either of these toys. She is however the most adorable trash baby, and I absolutely love the very obvious 3rd choice of plain cardboard

I'm glad it's not just me that occasionally calls my husband "man" as if he's just my pal and not the person I've been married to for several years, lol. Hopefully Joobie decides your trash egg is worth scratching eventually!

I think you’re right about some cats like joob liking it more stationary, but there also crazy cats like mine who I’m sure would be spinning it furiously as fast as he possibly could especially if there’s catnip involved. The option to lock it is a good idea lol.
