  • "Respect" does not equal "obey." "Honor thy mother and father" does not equal "even though you are an adult you still must do everything your parents tell you to do."
  • It's one thing to "respect" your elders. And it's another thing to let them be overbearing and "control" YOUR life. You can acknowledge their opinions, but the Decision is yours and yours ALONE.

What the hell are these brides doing bringing all these people with her to pick out her wedding dress? Thatā€™s crazy!
  • Gotta love the shop owners insulting a dress they carry šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£
  • "Children should be seen and not heard" Is there anyone who wants to tell her that it's a child's right to be listened to?

I liked how the mother in law realized that the dress she wanted Laura to wear didn't fit her, so she stopped trying to make her choose a dress she didn't like, and had her decide on her own.
  • Grandma clutching the pearls she doesnā€™t have around her neck is everything.
  • @5Demona5
Grandma be all "Treat others like you'd like to be treated" while trampling the bride's opinion in choosing her own wedding dress

Excuse me, she is 22...and most definitely should be heard.
  • I instinctively feel that granny has rarely admitted to ever being wrong about anything.
  • I'm from the South and I was taught to respect my elders. When I got married, I respected my elders but I chose my own wedding gown. In fact, I solved the problem of not being able to please everyone who went shopping with me by not taking anyone shopping with me. I went by myself and purchased my gown and the first time my mother saw it was on my wedding day. BTW, turns out she loved it.

The hairdo on that mother-in-law! LOL, she's been getting that same teased-and-sprayed-tight-perm since 1964!

A wedding dress should be 100% the bride's choice. The family should give consent to whichever dress she likes. Glad she got out with a dress they all liked though
  • @lindamosley922
Explain to me why other people get to dictate what the bride wears. IT'S HER WEDDING AND HER DRESS!!!!
  • Why in the world would a bride to be, take a future mother in law and grandmother to pick out her wedding gown?
  • Any mother in law that expects to be called ā€œMiss Francesā€ by her daughter-in-law is not someone youā€™re going to gel with
  • ā€œChildren should be seen and not heardā€.....šŸ˜³.........Jeez Louise.......which century did Grandma drop in from......so glad she got the dress of her dreams with family approval šŸ‘
  • @brandoniswhoiam
The fact that the ladies realized that their dresses didnā€™t work, and let Laura make her own decision. ā¤ļø

I always yell 'IT"S NOT YOUR WEDDING, WHO CARES WHAT YOU LIKE!!!!'. These moms, MILs and Grammas are too much!
  • My great nephew just got married, wisely my new great niece shopped for her gown with her mother only. I caused a lot of hot feelings when I told her she made the gown look gorgeous!! Others tried to disagree, (the gown is to plain, the gown doesn't have any lace, etc) but I persisted , I am her Great Aunt and I know how to be "Great" by respecting that she was the bride, besides what I said was true!!!
