25 years ago Ocarina of Time was heralded as the greatest game of all time. But how does it hold up today? And will my nostalgic bias get in the way? Yeah probs but who cares lol (laugh out loud) Enjoy!

I was 7. I watched my brother play OoT with my dad. Saw Gohma for the first time. Ran out of the room crying. 10/10 best game ever.

God that title screen music gets me every time

Watching Gen Z review a game from my childhood is both perplexing and hilarious and odd in so many ways.

I was 10 years old when this came out. I beat it without a guide and I will never forget the sense of accomplishment and sadness I felt when it was finally over. It's 100 percent my favorite game.

Nobody gonna see this comment so I say I'M GAY AND I LOVE MEN*

......And this is how I learned that I could hold down the space bar on my phone.
  • The Bottle being used as a tennis racket is actually a reference to the Bug Catching Net doing the same thing in A Link to the Past.
  • Hard disagree with anyone that says Spirit Temple before Shadow, the game says you need the boots to cross the desert, and you get the boots inside the Shadow Temple. Bloinking your way over the desert doesn't count and going into the Shadow Temple, getting the Boots and leaving is also bloinking in it up. Spirit is the final temple thematically too since you use the time travel elements inside the dungeon and not just some mini dungeon well. You last see the owl at the Spirit Temple and pretty sure Navi even says Shadow before Spirit.

Dude I wish I had half your tenacity. Such an ambitious project again and the quality bar never dropped even when the quantity was daunting! Did not feel like 90 minutes at all, this was such a heartwarming love letter to a classic. Absolutely adore how you marry your voiceover gags with fresh on screen stuff(you making out with spirit temple is literally peak YouTube). You have a real knack for being able to get real meticulous and keep it interesting, every videoessayist is jealous! I think a huge strength of yours that goes under the radar is your narration. It’s damn hard to recite events in a compelling way but you do so in a manner that sucks the viewer in for story time around the campfire. I revere you as a creator even more with every upload, hope you can give yourself a break! ❤️‍🔥
  • After almost a year of sporadically playing TOTK (first Zelda game since becoming a father!) and still not completing it, I really miss how self contained and linear this game is. And oh how I miss proper dungeons!!!

I was born in 89. Was there during the release but there's something great about a young squire going through and experiencing it. Subscribed.

So happy you mentioned how underrated the Spirit Temple music is! When I was a kid, I often turned on the game and went straight to the temple just to listen to the music - especially the incredible way it starts! Loved your video 🙌

Ocarina Time Baby, let's hear Snug go on about his VERY hidden love of Zelda

I was 8 when this game came out. I cannot exaggerate how amazing this game was playing it through the first time: the plot twists, the fact you changed into an adult, the shock of being tricked into fighting Phantom Ganon in the forest temple, and lastly the revelation of Sheik being Zelda figuratively blew mine and my cousins mind. I thankfully still have my OG N64 and copy of OoT. I cannot wait to play it with my kids when they’re old enough.
  • @ghost-do3hu
Eating food and a Snugboy video?! this is so peak
  • @franck4727
I'm a 90's kid. My first zelda game was a link to the past, I played it at my cousin house but ocarina of time was the first game that made me love video game. It truly felt like a revolution at the time, younger me understood that I was playing something special. By today standards I don't think you can call OOT the best game ever made but at the time of its release I believe you could have made a good argument to back up that statement. Anyway it's still a fun game to play to this day
  • The "Why you just don´t eat the boulder?" line from terminalmontage´s video on OoT always pops in my head everytime I see someone talking about Dodongo´s Cavern lmfao
  • Man fr in 98-2003 this game WAS Huge and the graphics WERE awesome. This game really was bombastic af for the time and blew my 5 year old mind when it came out. This game really is one of the best games of all time. Im glad to see someone who is younger give this game some love.
