Phineas and Ferb's beloved villain, Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz, fights back against the animator that drew him and miscellaneous other cartoon characters. This Disney TV Animation short is heavily inspired by the classic YouTube series, Animator vs. Animation, but is it worth watching?

How Not to Draw Dr. Doofenshmirtz builds the strong dynamic between Doof and Perry the Platypus. It's a fun callback to an early YouTube series, while still doing enough to stand on its own as a unique idea.

  • Alan Becker really got a huge impact on the Internet with Animation vs Animators. It's nice that they did a whole animation as a reference to that series!
  • Sometimes nobody can go for more than 2 minutes without being fully aware of the animated surroundings that any character is living in.

I love how Dr. Doofenshmirtz is slowly becoming a one of the most simple Disney characters. I'm waiting to see him in new Phineas and Ferb episodes
  • If anyone in Danville was was going to find out they were a cartoon, it was bound to be Doofenshmirtz. I absolutely love stuff like this. It reminds me of that Looney Tunes short, "Duck Amuck" where Daffy fights with the animator, who turns out to be Buggs trolling. Only this time, the character in Daffy's place is in control. I love it.

Only Doof would realize that his life goals are controlled by the animator with a pen. So this is just another Thursday to him.

I’m glad people finally are talking about the “How Not To Draw” series. I love the one with Cricket Green, and the one with Mickey Mouse, but this one is by far the best.
  • @lucomc32607
I love how instead of having some kinda existential crisis, Doof just shrugs it off that he’s not real and continues doing what he does best… EVIL IN HILARIOUS MANNERS!
  • When i first saw this short it made me think-" This is 4th wall breaking at it's finest!" And to think this isn't the first time a cartoon character has become self-aware that they are a cartoon character!
  • @JumperTV33
The concept of “Animation vs Animator” has been around since the black and white days. Looney Tunes did their own spin on it too. So there are layers to this reference.
  • Doofenshmirtz will always be Super Hilarious, even Breaking the 4th Wall

Doofenshmirtz: “There’s an animator controlling me”
  • @WSendam
There will never quite be a show like Regular Show and Phineas and Ferb
  • I love how doof said "Nobody likes a snitch" after he erased Candaces Mouth
  • @alexw0310
In case it wasn't obvious, Dee Bradley Baker (the voice of Perry and other animals in PnF) is the narrator of that video.
  • @catborgir8763
Every bodies breaking the 4th wall nowadays, it’s insane.
  • @endamcnabola
I wondered why Dee Bradley Baker was in this, until I remembered he voices Perry.
  • @Jetfox967
I guess Dr. Doofenshmirtz learned his fourth wall breaking skills from Deadpool.
