The Idea of You (Movie Review) | Opening Night At The Atlanta Film Festival 2024!!! #ATLFF

2024-05-01に共有
Another day, another film festival! I'm coming to you all live from the Atlanta Film Festival. What better way to kick things off than sharing my thoughts on the opening night premiere film!

In my The Idea of You movie review, I'll touch on my experience at the festival, especially with regard to Michael Showalter's personal insights and commentary. Not to mention my familiarity with his previous films.

I'll also express my appreciation for the charming and resonant performances of Anne Hathaway
and Nicholas Galitzine. Lastly, I'll mention my appreciation of the production team's reconstruction of "Coachella," while also mentioning a few cons that detracted from the experience.

Let's get into it!

Thanks D- so glad you got to attend the Film Festival. Appreciate you💗
  • Great review, thoughtful and well-rounded. Love Hathaway too, Devil Wears Prada and her role as Catwoman in the Dark Knight were personal favourites. This one sounds decent. Looking forward to the next review! ✌️🎬
  • B-? Heck yeah D! I am intrigued to watch this tomorrow when it drops and to know that you like it and exceeded any expectations has got me more excited 🙂 Also on a side note… D. Movieman MERCH?!!

I'm a fan of Anne Hathaway but not so much of romantic comedies. Maybe a one I'll give a chance though. Awesome you got to see this at the festival.
  • I appreciate honest, genuine emotions in RomComs. As we usually don’t get that type of acting. It’s usually corny or unrealistic.
  • This sounds like my cup o tea. I do like this director. Loved The Big Sick and Hello My name Is Doris. Sounds like a good bit of shameless comfort food. And what is wrong with that? Great video as always.

Another great review! Probably won't check this out, as rom-coms aren't my thing, but it sounds like a pretty decent film overall.
  • We seem rather similar with our thoughts here. Yeah it was straightforward but, it worked for the most part.
  • Great review! Anne Hathaway kinda ruined it for me in Brokeback Mountain, but she is good. I'm saving this one for a rainy day 🤭
  • I just really hated that she as a "mom" had to sacrifice when her ex never had to... and I wish we saw her daughter said something about that in the end.

I don’t know what it is about romantic comedies but i tend to avoid them like the plague. It sounds like this one may be ok though. I do like Anne Hathaway so there is that!
  • Love Anne Hathaway! Any movie she’s in! I love it. Her playing a 40 year old?? Wow. Her skin is porcelain. lol.
