As a general rule, just remember; "When traveling in ANY country, if someone approaches you and offers something, it's a scam"

As a local, I totally agree with all of these tips to avoid scams in Vietnam.

First thing i want to say is the guy who making this video , everything in the video is true and you have to be in vietnam like 2 year to know the beige uniform officer is f*cking useless so this video is REALLY helpful to you guys out there planning to come my country . Second thing is ONLY ask stranger when you are being lost , maybe luck on your side that stranger speak broken but understandable enough english to help you . And last thing is about protect your personal item like wallet and phone , get a fanny pack with you when you come here , it really help you in vietnam than your insurance company contracts . And my suggestion to you guys since there some of you want being fun while traveling but still able to protect yourself : - 1 Fanny pack ( must have if you like to go down alone to beer street ( - 1 4G sim card ( to make sure your gps work when needed ) - learn a little basic vietnamese ( to disguise you guys as foreigner living in vietnam for long time already and is help you away from ppl about scam you ) - split your money 50-50 one in your backpack and leave it at hotel since ur fanny pack help you only 70%-80% And a reminder in case you got big problem : 113 for police department , 114 for fire department and 115 for hospital department GLHF in Vietnam

I love how every part not only tells what to avoid but ends with advice on what to do instead. Great video!
  • As a Vietnamese, I felt like being scammed all the time when I came back to Vietnam. Last night when I ate a meal in Vinh city, which is goi Vit, they took like double the price of it. The local police in Vietnam do not work at all, they don't know how to manage or control the price, and also no serious punishments for those scammers. That's why our tourism is still not really develop as other countries, such as our neighbor-Thailand. Be careful, to ask the price before you eat anything in Vietnam. Why my country is like thisssss
  • The number 1 scammer in VietNam is our own family. They stole our money, phone, cameras… and laugh about it once we find out and never give them back.

I can't agree more as a Vietnamese. I like the part when you show empathy to lottery ticket sellers, most of the time they're really cheap around 50 cents. But many Vietnamese don't show remorse to these hardworking people

As a Vietnamese i want to say Thank You for your video. This video is helping everyone who want to travel to my country. I am very embarrassed by these scams, but thanks to exposing this scam, it will stop the act of scamming tourists and you know what i really hate scammers too. 😊
  • @YulHolic24
Thank you for making this video. As a Vietnamese I feel ashamed seeing tourists getting scammed every day around the tourist area
  • I’ve been in Vietnam for two years now and have found the people here to be kind and honest. Maybe I’ve gotten the tourist rate a time or two but certainly it didn’t break the bank.
  • @tiend2421
I giggled when you started describing Pickpockets, that was hilarious 😅🤣. I'm sure I too would swear at them as much or even more if I was victim to their wrongdoings. Thank you for this video and keep up the good work!

I bought fruit from a woman and she started grabbing my money from my hand when I went to pay. So, from then on I kept only a few small denominations in one pocket and the rest of my money hidden on my person. Other than that, I encountered no scams in Vietnam. Only kind and wonderful people.
  • I had the cyclo scam done to me ,he threatened and attacked me so i knocked him out cold and no one turned a eye.Brit on tour lol

I am from Malaysia. this video really helped me understand what we should avoid when we visit Vietnam. I started to feel scared because I will visit Vietnam on June 12, 2023. I will go to Ho Chih Minh City. This video is very helpful for me and travelers who will visit Vietnam. GOD Bless you Brother.

Do your own research and go with an open mind. We spent x4 weeks travelling from North to South in March-April 2019 and it is our first trip ever to Vietnam and never had any problems. They are the most friendliest people and are so polite. The only rude people we came across are foreign tourists themselves who thinks they are above everyone else. Show respect to the local people and their culture and they will look after you with kindness. There are good and bad in every country. I highly recommend visiting Vietnam and we are going again.
  • I've recently returned from a Vietnam holiday with my Aussie-Vietnamese girlfriend. Even she was disgusted by the way some of the locals treated us and how they spoke about us when they didn't realise that she understood their language.
