  • My mom made these for years for a company that sold them but they used a sewing machine. They work up quickly and a machine stitch will hold together forever. She made them 30 years ago and I still have some.

What a great idea, and an excellent way to use up fabric scraps! Thanks for the video. 😊

Great concept, but a couple of things that stand out to me. Only a basting stitch is used. If it was sewn with a simple stitch, and a section of stitching was damaged, it would be fixable. As it is, it's ruined as soon as one tiny millimetre section of stitching is damaged, because it's just one straight thread running through. Great for fast production, but in the long run, terrible for quality and longevity of the hair tie. The second thing is that, when closing everything off, a ladder stitch would be invisible and give a very clean and professional finish. It's a very easy and clever stitch that can be picked up with a little practice. For personal use, this would be fine, as long as you're happy with it. For sale, as the video title says, your product and your name would have far better reputation and repeat sales with a few extra minutes and care.
