Honestly, these videos are great for just listening to you dial in amps. It’s helpful to hear you talk through what you’re hearing, what you want to fix, how you plan to fix it, then hearing the change in sonic character after you implement the change
  • Price point makes a difference to most people! EVH Stealth is an absolute BEAST!!! King Edward built amps for the masses! Eq and boosts pedal's can make all the difference on any amp!! Love the EVH Striped grill!! In case you don't know. I'm a EVH Fan 😝🤘👍 3 EVH 50 W Heads!!!
  • @toadvinem
Keep it up Kyle. Great job in showing the differences of these two amps. I prefer the EVH it's BRUTAL !
  • I very much enjoy mids of the and almost tighter low end Triple Crown, but I LOVE the highs of the EVH and that sizzle or sparkle of the EVH gets me. If you had a stereo rig setup of the two, think how MONSTROUS the tone would be.
  • @unlockdworld
EVH all the way for tightness and have tons of options for the eq. IMO for TC50 it gives you a lot of boxy tones.
  • @Sound_Stable
Don't get hung up on the TC's mid-forward sound in the room alone. That sound is what makes it so incredible in a mix.
  • @shane1034
I really need to get ahold of an evh stealth. They both sound good. Seems like the Mesa might be a little more clear also
  • Hey Kyle, new subscriber Sven here, thx for giving the Mesa Triple Crown some love! I’ve owned one myself for a while and you really helped show me how to dial it in for metal proper like. Much appreciated, you’re the American Ola Englund, but better! Cheers
  • @sorashima
Fantastic video. If I was only playing high gain (full metal) I'd maybe lean towards the EVH, but the versatility and midrange cut-through of the Triple Crown really appeals to me. Tighter bass is no problem in a band situation, infact it's ideal to cut that rumble and let the bassplayer own those frequencies for a cleaner mix overall. About 16 minutes in you kicked up the highs on the TC and then actually the EVH sounded small and waspy in comparison. There's something going on in the upper mids on the EVH that couldn't be dialed out - that "KSHHHHHHHhhhh" about 3-4kHz
  • @MatthiasBuesing
Another great comparison video! Interesting to see how ridiculous the gain on the EVH is in the red channel. I always wondered about that when using Archetype Gojira from Neural DSP on amp 3 (which models the red channel)... All in all I prefer the tone of the Mesa. It's a bit more "rounded" and less sharp if that makes sense.
  • @fjk1138
Both sound fantastic. All depends on what kind of sound you are going for. To me, the TC50 would win because it has better clarity. You could always boost it and slam it into the EVH territory if you wanted to.
  • @JulianDaniels
I love the Mesa TC, sounds so big. Definetely must get one.
  • @gacktcbiz
Easy choice for me, EVH. Both sound good, but Mesa is always a bit weird in how their tone stack works. So unless there is a special reason why I must have an unique Mesa amp.... I would always choose an alternative. And in this case, I prefer the sound of the EVH too.
  • @teriakamoto
@ 12:00 it sounds louder because it cuts better and isn't as compressed. Sure the EVH sounds great @ the house in a room. I love both. But I've had my eye on the TC for a while. You can always put a boost on it or what have you and bring the Danish (Death Metal) out of it.
  • @resington
EVH has more satisfying saturated juice! Just perfect really.
  • I would pick the Mesa don't forget the Mesa has a self bias switch so you can change the tubes yourself you can also pick 3 different types of tubes to see which tubes you like
