Every news outlet is getting this wrong, it affects Microsoft systems but it's nothing to do with Microsoft, not everyone uses CrowdStrike. A simple way to think about it is if you anti virus software disables your windows computer, the software caused the issue not the operating system.

"If you're an attorney for Crowdstrike, you're probably not going to be seeing the beach for awhile." . . . LOL
-
Hospitals, districts, airports, and everything are affected. How did nobody test the software before it was released?

An incompetent security firm may do more damage than competent hackers.

This guy doesn't have a clue what he's talking about. I wonder how many shares he or his family owns.
-
Why was this "update" able to automatically take over millions of computers without an option to not do it? This seems like a major vulnerability.
-
We had a crowd strike from Crowdstrike. Seems legit.

Imagine everything relying on one company that has to simply have a code error to crash half the world. I mean... 🤫

This has knocked out all emissions testing in Utah

I've learned over my 25 + years working with computers that what can go wrong will, given enough time. Be ready and good luck people.

Microsoft will be liable for whatever participation in the Crowdstrike development and release. I'm guessing that Microsoft had little to no involvement. Probably no involvement. Crowdstrike moves forward by firing the engineers and the management chain that allowed this to happen. Potentially, criminal activity is involved. In any case, it was a QA failure that should have NEVER happened with massive implications.

You can thank the small time antivirus market for this. Microsoft fixed the issue with Windows Vista and McCaffe and Semantek threatened to exploit windows if it didn't let them have Kernal access. So Microsoft caved and gave limited Kernal access instead of saying no.

I don’t always test my code, but when I do, I test it in a production environment. Stay thirsty my friends!

You've used Microsoft update before. There's a resion we test all updates on a group of computers before deploying to the organization.
