  • At least the cast perfectly fit the characters. That made the movie stick true to its source material. Rodrick was the best character.
  • the main character becomes slightly better at the end of the movie in comparison to the books, but in general, this is one of the most loyal book-to-movie adaptations out there. it's not an exact copy (the girl played by chloe grace mortez isn't in the books), but it has the exact same vibe.
  • I really enjoyed this movie and I just want to point out a few things. 1. Angie's character was totally unnecessary in this movie and she's pretty annoying, good thing she doesn't show up for the sequels. 2. Greg Heffley is a HORRIBLE friend and he doesn't deserve Rowley. 3. The Disney reboot is an actual SIN and deserves to be called a crime to this franchise. Other than that, great movie☺️
  • The most unrealistic thing about this movie is the fact that Angie was able to wear a beret in school
  • He's not wrong about the candy bar thing. The fancy neighborhoods are always the ones who give you full size candy
  • @shamus248
8:07 Rowley unintentionally giving Rodrick ammunition to tease Greg as if he himself also didn't eat lunch on the floor is fucking hilarious
  • For the safety patrol part, actually safety patrol is quite cool, and people think it's cool. They get free hot chocolate in the mornings, and of course have to work in the afternoons, but not only do you get a bit of real job experience...experience as in what a real job is almost like, but you literally get to go on field trips too. I was on safety patrol many years ago, and we got to go to an amusement park and ride on rides and even get some snacks, DURING SCHOOL HOURS. Yeah, go ahead and say safety patrol isn't cool now.
  • As someone who read the books and watched the movies as a kid, I thought Greg was in the right (probably because he was the main protagonist). I didn't realize how much of a narcissist he was until I got older.
  • No Alex, there is nothing at all wrong with this movie. No criticism are allowed, I will throw hands over this
  • @boginoid
I would totally abuse the "cheese touch" as a kid. It would be the best superpower ever! I could block hallways on my own, go around and touch everyone's lunch, I could choose my table every time unseating whoever I want... The fact that these kids don't go on a weird powertrip at the end of the movie tells me they have way more character than I do.
  • Something I truly love about this trilogy, is that it really feels real. The plot isn’t unrealistic and it feels like this could happen to any one, any where! The reason the books do so well is for this reason!
  • I actually feel like Rowley would be incredibly popular in a real middle school. He'd be the funny nice kid that everyone wanted to talk to Edit: yeah I know rowley was popular in the movie, but what I mean is that he would be popular for much longer and find better friends than Greg lol
  • I stumbled across this movie as an adult while channel surfing and this is probably one of the most hilarious kid movies I've ever watched. Greg was such a jerk, Rowley deserved so much better.
  • 14:24 I can't belive the girl from Matilda went to the same middle school as Greg wow
  • @Ssamman256
10:09 that cloooong is me banging my head with a metal bat at the back of the classroom.
  • also btw, when I said that girls don't want sensitive guys who write their feelings in a journal, I meant in middle/high school. obviously after that people change and (allegedly) grow up a little
  • @Kal824
I love how Alex managed to completely disregard Greg's parents in this entire video. 😂
