  • If I remember the lore correctly Exar Kun also would alter the blades intensities mid fight. You would literally go to block only for his blade to pass through yours. He used this constant alteration to throw his opponents off in the fight, which is brilliant to use that function in that way
  • @GutsOfRivia
Form 6 was also the perfered form of Revan. It really is overlooked but it stands as a testament of the forms effectiveness when 2 of the greatest Sith used it as their perfered form.
  • I would like to add that he also turns his blades on and off intermittently during a fight. This would throw opponents off as he's hard to predict a nightmare to deal with.
  • @revaniac
The real reason why especially later He was unbeatable was first, he used a unique lightsaber Crystal which made his blade so powerful that it cut even through Beskar, mandalorian steel and second he used nimad to easily switch between all seven forms plus he consequently turn his lightsaber off and on to break through his opponent's defense and do surprise attacks. You really can say that with all that, He was the most powerful duellist in whole Star wars history and not even matched by anyone
  • @crowsnest43
Finally Kun is getting respect for being one of the most powerful of any time period. I saw some idiot make a ranking video that rated Ahsoka more powerful than Exar Kun. 🤦
  • @SCScholar1
Niman was considered a form easy to learn but hard to master. In the comics, it was shown kun and Queldroma fought to a standstill.

Exar Kun has been one of my favorite SW characters since the mid 90s, when I first saw him in that era's Essential Guide to Characters, and his DB saber was one of my favorite elements of that. My favorite moment, of course, is spirit Kun just wrecking Corran Horn, after the snarky Jedi tried to make a case that, without a vessel to puppet, Kun obviously had no power; Horn was wrong 😁, and oy the timely arrival of Mara Jade saved him. Things like that, and also fighting his Krevaaki Master to a standstill, whike ALSO holding still the entire Senate, and being powerful enough that, even with a fleet over Yavin IV, the Jedi and troops looked at each other, said "well I'M nor going down there", and electing to simply blast the Temple of Fire from orbit, because it's the only way to be sure. Still, all that, and I still like his saber skills most. I remember when we first saw the DB saber in Phantom Menace, and I remember being irritated by the less nerdy than me Star Wars fans trying to credit Darth Maul with its invention, but I liked Kun's. I liked that it wasn't two sabers connected in the middle, but one hilt with two emitters. Since the bleeding crystal phenomenon/nonsense (you can decide) didn't exist yet, I appreciated that, unlike so many other Sith, his saber remained blue. I think it was also phase-altering, meaning he could adjust bith its length, and beam intensity, so he could make enemies overextend, and then kill them with the counter. He was capable with the Force, certainly, but I loved how focused he seemed to be on using his lightsaber, almost a reverse-Palpatine, since a fair bit of his own Force use wad a similar future-sight, but he used it to predict openings to kill enemies, where Sidious used it more to avoid conflicts altogether.
  • What about tulak hord I thought he was basically the best duelist in Star Wars they literally had to trick and gang up on him to kill him
  • @JohnneyT
I would like you to talk about Reven's lightsaber technique.👍 Edit: Great video.
  • This pretty much answers the last question I had about Exar Kun, what was his lightsaber form? But as I suspected, as a former Jedi who, like Anakin, wanted more he took Niman, learned all the essentials then took them to their most extreme limit.
  • @danwal33
Yes he was great! He used Form 6 (Niman) to his advantage. Form 6. That everyone else said was the weakest form. And conquered like a BOSS! They need to put this in canon.
  • I’ve noticed that you are covering more about lightsaber forms and how they are useful. Very well done, as this is a very interesting topic. Each form is different, and good for different reasons. Also when it comes to Kun’s unique lightsaber handle for two blades, 9:37 I believe he had perfect reasoning and logic behind this.

Exar Kun would probably be considered the most powerful Sith Lord if he were not less well-known than the ones from the video games. The Jedi Order was very powerful during his time. They were allied with the Republic, but not subject to its politics as later generations of Jedi would be. The Jedi of his time often had multiple apprentices (who were often adults) and readily taught them advanced skills like Battle Meditation that would be largely restricted only to trusted Masters in the later Order. They were based on Ossus, rather than Corsucant, giving them independence from Senate politicking. Yet Exar Kun very nearly brought down both the Jedi Order and the Republic. Indeed, had the Jedi arrived at Yavin IV just a few minutes later than they did he might have completed his great ritual and ascended to become a free-roaming Dark Side spirit of unthinkable power.
  • @ericolsen5592
Exar Kun's origin story reminds me of Dooku's origin story in Legends. A great Jedi who hated the Sith so much the hatred turned him to the Dark Side.
  • @rrgale55
I also thought that vodo siosk bass beat him using just his walking stick. The first time, when he was still a jedi.
  • A fully powered exar kun would be universal+ he died very young and never archive his true potential the source say he was going to become all powerful if it wasn't for the jedi interruption he also got a power boost from marka ragnos that's bestowed by all sith lords that get baptized, kun also devastated the surface of musterfar and the author tom veich confirmed that exar kun is similar to emperor papaltine reborn not as powerful but very close both exar kun and papaltine reborn are described by luke Skywalker in his prime as the biggest focal point AKA force nexus of the dark side he ever seem, the source escalate that if the jedi didn't stop exar kun in time he would have become too powerful, the source say the the ritual exar kun performed would had made him all powerful if it weren't for the jedi interruption. exar kun mastered all sith magic archemy and many rituals, he mastered all 7 lightsaber form and mastered skills from ancient times create by tulak hord and the jedi exile, exar kun possessed the dark holocrom which had the acknowledged of over 10,000 years of sith magic archemy rituals lightsaber skills, the source stated that exar kun was the galaxy greatest threat 4000 years before the birth of luke Skywalker, Leia also say exar kun weakened spirit was more powerful than a prime luke Skywalker. Tom veich confirmed that exar kun is similar to emperor papaltine reborn in raw force power potential acknowledge and skills in the force. Tom veich confirmed on his Twitter that exar kun is similar to emperor papaltine reborn in raw force power potential acknowledge and skills it took over 2000+ jedis with prep plus the republic to pull up on him and they couldn't destroy his spirit only Bing it because exar kun was too strong.
  • Love this video, and the lote behind it. I wonder what would happen if Kun would fight Darth Vader
  • @iamdarthketa
