2 jobs? Junior in Mechanical Engineering? Completely debt free? This guy's current situation is as rare as it comes.

I'm almost 47 and that kid puts me to shame. Great job, man, keep it up!

I downgraded from a $30,000 car to a $2000 Toyota Corolla. I've had that Corolla for 1 year now and it still drives like a dream. I've only done basic maintenance to it. Really recommend it. Best thing is that I don't owe anything to anyone.
  • Worst feeling ever is buying a cheap car thinking you’re going to save money then having that car constantly break down on you. It might cost money up front but always have mechanic inspect a used car

I wish I was as smart as this young man, at his age. I didn't really wake up until my early 30s.

For a man who is worth $50Mn, Dave exhibits a lot of patience to consult with a young man on a car with a budget of $3000.

My first car was 3000$ second was 7000$. (One a jeep, one a toyota) Still have both. Still use both. Amazing cars. All of my friends have beautiful nice car ...debt, they make fun of my car and i make fun of their consumerism and debt.

This guy doesn't need Dave. He's already in control of his money, and if he maintains the same attitude towards money, it will just be a matter of time until he becomes wealthy.

I didn't think it would be so satisfying to see someone decently financially responsible call in lol.

Better to drive a $3000 car, than a $40k car just because you get a "stipend".
  • This guy didn't even need to call him. "I'm debt free, learning how things work in school, and stressing over an old car." Just get an Accord for 5k and roll on.
  • @CaptainCocaine
Makes $2k/mo making deliveries Wants to know if replacing an unreliable shitbox for around $3k is a good idea BRUH
  • @dodgeplow
This kid doesn't need to talk to Dave. He's made good decisions. This is just a pep talk for him :)

My old 2003 Toyota Camry was $3,000. No issues minus replacing a radiator and 3 wheel bearings. Sold it for $1,500 after 5 years. Completely worth it.

I bought a '98 cavalier with 90k miles and ice cold AC for $1,400.. still running strong today (2 years and 15k miles later).. Reliable car. Also debt free, and a home owner @ 27 years old. Phoenix AZ Represent!!!
