My favorite part of Jojolion is when Araki was killed and replaced by a rock human and for the next few chapters the manga was written by Arocki.

I love hearing Hamon Beat trying to say the rock insect names as seriously as possible
  • @shinyagumon7015
I like how this video started out as with basic rock human facts and ended with a philosophical discussion about Fate.
  • @zyhirbrown1071
2:08 will forever be indebted to Araki since he makes us say this seriously in conversation

like how the rock humans are "what if the pillar man's race survived to the time of stands/they integrated into society as a greater scope force" fitting with the 7-8 universe being a exploration of the old universes ideas.

Not necessarily relevant to the video but I think it's interesting to note that all of the main stand using villains of JoJo have abilities to manipulate fate. Dio can stop time to alter his fate, as well as being a vampire to unnaturally prolong his life. Kira uses Bites the Dust to create fates for other people, Diavolo can skip time and alter fate by changing destined events, Puchi creates a world where everyone knows their fate, President Valentine can redirect bad fates onto others using Love Train and use D4C to bring characters from other dimensions to subvert fate if he or someone else dies or does something else he doesn't want them to, and Toru can force bad fates on anyone who tries to attack them. This is kinda obvious but I think it's interesting, if a bit hard to explain.
  • One thing that should be noted about Tooru is that Araki has since introduction implied that Rock humans were since beginning or turned into parasites. They start their life as parasitoids for wasp untill they reach maturity, and after it they find a person whose life they can steal and leech as long as possible. Rock humans were always depicted acting in their self interest with no concern for others ( aside A. Phex brothers between each other ), and even in their love life were simply caring for their own satisfaction and showing minimal concern for their partners ( Dolomite treating her disabled girlfriend more like a very loved pet than his equal ). Being around Rock humans also brought misery to most they were around, even with Rokaka having horrifying side effects sometimes worst than the disease. Tooru as a main villain is the ultimate form of this parasitism, a person with no strong drive that still claws away everything from other with giving only the bare minimum if even that. His stand literally brings nothing but misfortune reflecting what Tooru does. This was exemplified in the scene where Tooru sees a wasp nest that stirs memories from his youth and proceed to eat them, wasp symbolizing nurture and he thanks them with death. The relationship with Yasuho was also based on exploitation since beginning even when he cared about her genuinely, he was still using her for mostly emotional satisfaction. In the end he did what parasite does best and tried to take even more, but doing so ended up giving someone else everything he had. I think this was what Araki was going for, but feel free to think and talk about it

Can't wait to watch this while I have dinner tonight

I kind've considered the Rock Humans to be the Steel Ball Run Universe's analogue to the Pillar Men since it's shown that the Pillar Men were encased in stone before coming to life. They were also the "original beings" of the Earth and sought to take it back for themselves. Although Tooru was more like Kira Yoshikage in that he acted in the shadows whereas Kars was pretty bombastic in Part 2. PART 8 SPOILERS: From that, I also saw Tooru as being similar to Kars as he was the leader and mastermind of the rock humans.

I believe that rock humans are one of the coolest and most fascinating things Araki has ever written. They look like humans but think and behave in a much more animalistic way. More attuned to nature and mentally different from humans, they just feel so real to me and I hope we get to see more of them
  • @nefariosgliscor
So basically, Rock Humans are like Pillar Men, but with a shorter lifespan, stands instead of vampire powers and limitations, more complicated anatomy, better social skills, and wear actual clothes.
  • @VaclavRytina
I Hope we will get some more information about them in part 9 (like pillarman)

9:04 Earthquake eyes and the wall protect Morioh from tooru by creating Josuke, and there is a possibility that tooru ability caused the earthquake, and also the reason why he discovers the ability GO BEYOND Ironically, Josuke, new rokakaka, bad luck, one of his flowers"jobin",mamezuku rai, holly:tooru did experiments on her,Yasuho and her phone that helped him impersonate Satoru will lead to his death /Araki say: this story about breaking a curse+All events refer to this man _This reminds me of Kars when the earth and red stone of aja rejected him and threw him out
  • @xBinyWolf
I don't think we will see a lot of rock humans in part 9 just because if the part of jojo 7-9 are really a mirror of parts 1-6 rock humans are a mix of vampires of parts 1-2 and the strange feeling of the "twin peak like" that morioh provided. I think that part 9 could be the best part just by the fact that it is the last and araki can put EVERYTHING in there and give us a bigger finale than part 6. See you in 8-10 years <3

Am I the only one who notices the contrast between Diavolo and Tooru? For Example Diavolo has split personality disorder, so there's him and Doppio in one body, plus he's the head of Passione, a mafia that formerly sold drugs, in which probably a majority of it's members are stand users. Then Tooru who is able to assume two identities through his stand, they're both one but are seperate in a way, and he's the head of the Rokakaka organisation, which has Damo's team who makes deals with the Rokakaka, then the TG University hospital members who want to use it, develope it to a level where they can surpass humanity(I think at least)
  • @keczapiquu604
Oh my god. Someone could finally explain to me what is the rock humans goals
  • Aw hell yeah hamon beat just made a rock humans video You know it's gonna be a good one 👍 Bro makes videos more detailed than araki himself
  • @31r1n

I really like the Rock Humans and their dynamic racial differences with humans. Much more than the Pillermen by a long shot. However it really bothers me that at the end of it all, you really can boil them all down to "bad guys who lost because they are bad guys" still. Strange because the Pillermen were actually depicted as fair and noble masters of humanity before Kars ruined everything. Really wish Rai was one honestly. Would have been able to add this greyness where he agreed with the ultimate goal but not the cruelty of the organization
