Hi, I'm Will Schmierer, a leadership coach, full-time psychology master's student, father, and stroke survivor. In 2019, at the age of 37, I faced a life-altering stroke and was soon diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

Navigating these challenges while the pandemic unfolded, I turned my struggles into a mission to help others. I'm focusing my energy on Survivor Science, a resilient community for survivors, families, and medical professionals to support each other and thrive in their recovery journeys. I also host the Lovable Survivor podcast, where I share insights and experiences.

  • Will, thank you for coming on here and sharing. I had an ischemic stroke and THEN diagnosed with Factor V Leiden. Doctors make me leery at 46. I am now 54. Fighting for advocacy. No time spent in the hospital. Just diagnosed through my neurologist. It’s definitely a balance!
  • After my ischemic stroke when I went back to Dr. They told me I had Ms but I didn't have it after further tests
  • Any suggestions on how to get to running Post stroke. Please Appreciate it
  • March2018 stroke November 2018 MS diagnosis on my 46th birthday. While inpatient at the hospital they spotted a 17millimeter lesion at C5 on my spine. The neurologist didn't know you could have M.S. lesions in the spinal cord, he did have the sense to refer me to a M.S. Center. An irregular heartbeat led to a massive loose clot in my heart. A part broke off and caused a RBB, right branch block ischemic stroke.
