  • Next budget build Alex - "oh, I had a campag groupset and Bora wheels lying around in the parts bin, so I'm gonna chuck them on the bike"
  • @tobimaxx
I would be seriously pissed if I paid £17k and it weighed 8.06 kg🤦🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️
  • That's $21,331.58 for us Americans. I'm going to go get a drink, a very large alcohol drink, and reminisce about my first bike, a $50 Huffy.

I built my dream bike. I got a 2010 trek madone 6.9, custom painted it, installed dura ace 9100 groupset, yoeleo 60mm wheel on the front, 88mm on the rear, tubeless tanwall gp5000 tires, carbon handle bar, oil slick bar plugs, spacers, and stem cap. It weighs in at 6.8kgs, feels so nice to ride and no one out there has the same rig.
  • @ArdGeal
Or a brand new road+gravel+XC bike and a van to put them in....
  • In 2012 I built my dream bike of sorts, a Kish Ti frameset, Enve 1.0 fork, SRAM Force mechanical groupset, Chris King headset/bb/hubs, DT Swiss RR365 wheels, Thompson seatpost/stem, Fizik Aliante saddle, Deda Zero100 bar. Cost US$6400. Still riding it. Nothing has gone wrong with it. Still love it! The only thing I've upgraded is the saddle.
  • £17000,staggering value but you can't get anymore exotic than that.Really beautiful but black bar tape would look much better.💯👌🏻🚴

Oh, man. As much as I'd like to build my own Dream Bike with an unlimited budget is only a dream BUT I have made a few dream bikes with a VERY limited budget and I loved them regardless. I also believe that if you like your bike it makes you want to ride it more, and more, and more! Quite a true statement. I've ridden them all and I loved them all
  • I think you nailed it when you said all that matters is that you enjoy riding it and, every time you ride it, you just want to ride it more. I've just built a TT bike from a mix of eBay parts, Marketplace bargains and a few new bits and pieces and I adore it. On its first outing in anger, it beat one bike that had a single wheel worth more than my whole build. It's not perfect and it's not meant to be - it's mine, I built it and I love it. And it's a project so will technically never be finished. Good video - and we need to see more of that vintage team car too.....
  • @zxny
exactly the build i wanted to see
  • and here I was thinking the bike was going to be the prize in a GCN competition! Beautiful build that is here one day and disappeared into the aether the next...
  • I put together my (more or less) ultimate dream build bike last year (Trek Ckeckpoint SL framesaet, GRX Di2 2X group set, Pro Discover carbon bars, Zipp carbon seat post, Selle Italia SLR Boost saddle, Garmin Rally XC pedals, Roval Terra C wheels with S works Pathfinder tires, - I have a road wheel set too with deeper Hunt wheels and 32mm Vittoria corsa pro tires) Ridden a little over 7000 Km on it and it has been BRILLIANT. Lived up to all my hopes and it feels SO good (helps I had a bike fit before getting all the parts and then building it to bike fit recommended set up). Cost a lot - but the Euro per smile ratio definitely worth it!
  • I smile every day I go for a ride on my $600 Cannondale. 😁 I always tell my bike how happy it has made me. 😍 Glad you had fun and I enjoyed watching!
  • @Lambo.18
Had my dream bike assembled by the bike shop. It’s a Pinerallo F14 frame with Shimano 105 R7000 2x11 mechanical, carbon rims, Continental GP5000 STR tubeless tires, and some of the most comfy bar tape I’ve ever used. Best. Bike. Ever!!!
