I think he is the most raw and real director we have today. Thank you. Also, him and Ryan are so similar that it's trippy
  • we need more soulful filmmakers like him to keep the medium alive and healthy!

As a film student I have to thank you for all these interviews that you do. You make these people feel comfortable and get real, in-depth answers out of them, much different than the usual cliche, pre-thought-out answers we usually get. You deserve way more views

This was a great film. The place beyond the pines was brilliant as well, never seen anything like. This guys a genius. And gosling is the best actor in hollywood
  • @Tptkk
Great director and one of the greatest movies ever.

He's amazing. Great interview, although the interviewer threw me off a bit when he made that commentabout Dean's violence seemingly coming out of nowhere towards the end. This film is so real and quiet that if you don't pay attention, you miss a lot of the beauty of how it's been crafted. Dean shows his capacity for anger and violence very early on, in the school concert scene where after Cindy says, "I found Megan," he says, "How many times have I told you to lock the fucking gate." And then how he reacts on the carride to the motel. The whole film is so incredibly well-done. And this may be one of my favorite interviews ever! I'm starting The Place Beyond the Pines now.

Ryan's character in BV looks a lot like Derek, especially with the thinning hair.
