After all these years living in Turkey, this is what I've learned: Never trust a man with a sparse moustache
-
It reminds me of Greece... Corruption happened in both our countries. And, of course, simple people pays the price...
-
As a Turk I can say that TUIK numbers are wrong because their statement is also a propoganda. They have to watered it down heavily because Erdoğan tells them to do.
-
Turkey's sole problem is not just inflation; there is also an incredible problem of tax evasion in the country. Only the salaried sector pays income tax, and due to the lack of tax reform for this sector, even those earning just above the minimum wage fall into a high tax bracket. Meanwhile, companies earning tens of millions of dollars annually evade taxes and end up paying less tax than even someone earning minimum wage.

I am a Turkish Software Engineer. I have left the country 6 years ago. Even back then, the direction that the leadership of the country was taking was very obvious. Nepotism on the highest levels of government, comical economical/monetary policies, crazy/senseless + expensive projects, degradation of the judicial system, declining personal freedom, poor security, poor education... it felt more and more like I was a drone sentenced to work and shut up, just slaving away...paying taxes and getting nothing in return just to pay someone's palace's electricity bill... Until there is a new administration, it will never get better...

One word answer: Corruption!
-
IMO, Turkey's problem comes solely from Erdogan's policies. Turkey itself is well structured. Good companies. Good work force. If Erdogan can be put out of office, a new administration could quickly turn it around.
-
Islamisation was also a large part of the Turkish President's strategy.
-
It is not just Erdogan's faith and incompetence that are to blame. The people who voted for Erdogan and did not stand up against him are also to blame.
-
10:05 - the map shown when talking about the Turkiye's economy just left the +30% of the Turkish economy outside the Turkiye :D
-
10:05 wtf is this map?
-
Inflation hits people a lot harder than a crashing stock or housing market as it directly affects people's cost of living that people immediately feel the impact of. It's not surprising negative market sentiment is so high now. We really need help to survive in this Economy.
-
This is a gift to the rich they borrow and then buy dollars and then watch as their debt rapidly shrinks.
-
It's not Erdogan's fault. It's fault of people who's voted for him.
-
Isn't a big part of the problem that Erdogan doesn't think inflation is a problem?
-
In Texas our food cost has doubled in 14 months (I do the shopping and every item is doubled). Our house has doubled in value since 2020. How are we at 3%. Not saying this video is lying……… but someone is.

10:16 Fix that wrong Turkiye map, don't you have any atlas at your office ??

This is Turkey’s economy in a nutshell. In 1970 one dollar was 10 liras. One million liras was $100,000 dollars . In 2005 one dollar was 1.35 million liras so Erdogan removed 6 zeros from lira and one ☝️ dollar became 1.35 liras but this lira was in millions now . Today one dollar is 33 liras ( 33 million liras) . Today one million liras is worth .03 dollars or 3 cents . Turkish lira has lost 99.97% of its value . When , not if , lira loses 3 cents of value then Turkish economy will implode . Turkish economy has already fallen off the cliff , it hitting the ground is matter of destiny not time .

Not getting our facts right... inflation in Argentina is over "200%" so to say no other country?
-
Highest inflation in the world? Argentina and Venezuela at least are way ahead of Turkey.
