    When a grid misaligns with a grid that's behind - that's a moire!
  • Great job on explaining Moire' Effect. Overwhelmingly in the studio, men's shirts, sportcoats & ties would require them to change. Our cameras just couldn't deal with it. Women's clothing usually weren't a problem. Now, the Chroma-Key effect was an issue for everyone. The subtleties of blues & greens in a Chroma-Key would always be an issue requiring a wardrobe change. We would always ask talent or guests to come in early for a camera check. It would take only minutes, but save everyone the hassle later.

Bought my LG c3 77" openbox for 2000euros. No regrets, literally nothing wrong with it, imo. Still had the protective film on it, 14day return policy and 2 year warranty. Nothing wrong with open boxes tbh.

Just got an open box excellent LG G3 a week ago. The only thing missing was the ir blaster and the plastic on the screen. The menu showed only 8-9 hours of use. I'd say for $1680 + tax I paid vs $2600 MSRP open box is very worth it.

Just bought a open box s89c in "excellent" condition from best buy for $1475. Was able to add the 5 year warranty, after tax came out to a total of just over $1900. Rolled the dice since I was able to add the warranty. Will be setting it up today and keeping my fingers crossed lol

I bought an open-box “geek squad certified” Sony A95K 65” that was basically new in box for 2200, and couldn’t be happier. Good return policy and easy to deal with.
  • I own two open box LG C9 from Best Buy. Both are still working perfect.

I learned what Moiré effect is, so that's cool!

I bought an open boxed Sony receiver from Amazon, it was supposedly "like new". Well once I saw it for myself I was a bit shocked. It had a huge dent on the top and the knobs were incredibly stiff with scratches on them and also the back was scratched up. To be fair it still worked fine, but it had ton of cosmetic damage and was FAR from Like New.

I got a killer deal ($1799 before taxes) on a 77A80K OLED "refurb." 2 year warranty. Thus far it has performed flawlessly, about 8 months in. It had maybe 75 hours on the panel when I received it. Fingers crossed!

Digital Trends, I loved this video so much, I had to hit the like button!

Bought a Samsung 55" Open Box TV at Best Buy years ago that was Certified by their Geek Squad crew and when I got home and turned it on, the volume went up to 100 without me touching the remote or the TV. Unplugged it and started it again and it did it again multiple times so I returned it and have never trusted open box items from Best Buy again. Even if it's Geek Squad Certified.

Bought a floor display model of the 82 inch q900r. They had it on for only like 2 months before shutting down for a while during the pandemic. Fast forward a few months later, i picked it up for 3400 bucks when it was a 10k tv. They even put a warranty on it. Love the tv. Its since been moved to another room for the 98" qn90a

    I bought a open-box 48" LG C3 for $800 and it's been great!
  • @Baulder13
my LG 55C7P from 2017 was open box. I worked at Best Buy at the time and saw I could grab it for $400. Thing had been on for a year non stop. Still works in 2024. Only thing is that there is a slight difference in brightness on each side of the screen and its a straight line down the middle. Only noticeable on bright scenes. Otherwise its still snappy and works well.
