Still not really making anything for a while, at least not hardware that will make it into a video. Having fun on Twitch though and I am still getting to do some programming in a round about kinda way.

Here is my Twitch channel www.twitch.tv/davidjwatts be aware it is a mix of programming and messing about with games. Follow at your own risk.

Have you considered doing videos following the progress of the house renovation? A bit like Julian's Shednanigans! :)

Good to see an update! As an Australian, I find the entire concept of that "garden" really strange. Why is it so common in the UK to have a 10 foot wide house with a 100m long grassed greyhound drag racing track behind it? We have plenty of small attached (terraces), and semi-detached (duplex), and townhouse-style homes here, but they don't include an almost completely useless narrow slot of lawn like that. I find it strange how in the UK it's so common to have incredibly narrow frontages and massively long blocks... it's be so much nicer with about half the total area, but with much more livable proportions. What's the total m² of that plot of land?

Lack of exercise when working from home I think is affecting a lot of us! Those Wylex fuse boxes are from around the 1970's. The incoming cable is PILC, nothing too terrible about it but it looks in a bit of a state because of the cloth covering. The cable underneath will be pretty much pristine, just don't try to move it...
  • Thanks for the update David! Take all the time you need, we'll be ready when you are!

The brick lay is the same as my 1881 Cornish brick terraced house. If it's any consolation, I've been working through my house, modernising and improving my house for 20 years!! I'd also be utilising the cellar as my workshop, as mine is outside, which is a little cold in the winter.

That back part of the garden looks really lovely, idyllic getaway in your own backyard. Don't let the fox bite you!

Don't get caught out with the shrubbery divider in the back garden, it's kinda nice an tidy now, but it will get veracious in spring. Options are, ladders and a hedge trimmer, or an "all in one" device that have extension poles. Personally I'd chop them down to the ground, and put a fence in their place if you like the divide.

Good to see you pal! I've also put some chub on - just bought a new bike to help shift it! Keep smiling and we'll hopefully see you soon.

Good to see you, I suggest getting those dodgy electrics done before anything else.
  • @Davedarko
You're still one of the most beautiful (male) electronics youtubers out there :*

70s orange in the bathroom, pretty fresh back then - as hip as a Bonanza bike for us kids

Old houses have lots of character. Keep those tiles. My tiny house in London is from 1890.

You are not alone, David. My mental health tanked during the last couple of years.
  • @fullmuppet
My reaction to that house is a mix of both "oh my god" and "oh my god"

Good to see you back. Looks like a great house with tons of scope to add value. Lots of interesting projects ahead, just pace yourself and give yourself time and get help from anyone who's willing! Best of luck.
  • @roadeycarl
Awesome house, that garden is bloody great. Good BBQ area too! Keep well, look after yourself.
  • @jawjuk
Great to see you, David! I've found I'm too fundamentally disorganised to catch Twitch streams, but good to hear you're enjoying it.
  • @RichardABW
Looks great, good luck. Get the new fuse box sorted with RCD’s before you get a shock!
