Cars like BYD Seagull meets the needs of 90% of global market.
  • My wife just brought one, today. We live in brazil. The little thing just gets better and better. We'll see.

I can see why America says the Chinese cars are a national security issue, because the American cars just wouldn’t sell.

OMG. Finally i can find some honest review about something from China. Thank you for staying true to cars without politics. I hope I can get it in Canada one day.

This is the one all OEMS should be scared about. Expensive trucks and SUVs aren't going to save you from bankruptcy.

With Cheap house Electricity/ Charging this car would cost Pennies to drive and own, and be the kids runabout, not everyone needs a GIANT Suv to go to Costco. Remember we used to drive tiny Honda Civics and VW Rabbits back inthe day!😅

I have a BYD Atto 3 Extended range, for 9 months now. It is the best car I have owned. The attention to detail, safe LFP Blade Battery, stylish and comfortable interior, and 5 Star ANCAP (European) rating were deal breakers for me. Also being able to open the door and just sit down, instead of climbing down into, or up into is also just right for me. Convenient OTA updates, 12.5" rotatable centre display Android tablet, and another driver display above the steering wheel (which adjusts with steering height). It is a great EV, very well made and a comfortable ride. Great value for the price. Cheers from Australia.

I live in China and the first few times I saw this thing last year I was very impressed. It is very cool looking in person and for only $11,000 it is such a great deal. The US auto makers better wake up quick because this vehicle and others like it are going to destroy them if they don't.

The Saegull just launched here in Brazil in March as the Dolphin Mini. U$23,000 with a complementary wall charger. Sold 7,600 units the first week! BYD will begin assembling EVs from imported kits in ‘24 in olde Ford complex in Camaçari, Bahia.

The US car manufacturers have failed in every market outside North America. They have forgotten to compete, and rather rely on govt help to sell their vehicles.

I like how straight forward the video is. No sugar coating, just raw test.
  • @craigrn16
If this comes to the US, it will destroy any other EV competition
  • @DeLorean4
A 48k average transaction price for new cars in the US is not sustainable. I'm glad traditional OEMs are getting a kick in the butt to develop small, affordable cars again.
  • @Slaphappy1975
In my country of Thailand, BYD and Tesla are crushing the competition.
  • @petersimms4982
Drove one of these at the end of last year,it’s amazing 😊

Looks like a baby Lamborghini. That's smart of BYD. Lead designer is Wolfgang Egger who formerly designed for Lamborghini, Alfa and Audi. With 74 hp and $11,500 and you can still have some style. The splitter shows he has a sense of humor. My 69 VW Beetle only had 57 hp and was the same size. It took me everywhere and hauled everything with a folding rear seat. My generation was fortunate that the USA wasn't protectionist back then. I would love one of these, but I doubt they will be allowed to enter the USA. Politicians will tell you the cars are spying, but they willingly carry a Chinese made phone. Reverse engineering, like it's some UFO, isn't going to help our manufacturers produce anything equal anywhere near the same price unless they build it in Mexico. If American corporations keep doing that Mexico may soon have to build the wall to keep Americans from taking their jobs. Just kidding. 100% automation and no jobs is the ultimate goal and coming soon. Tesla calls it the machine that builds the machine, and every manufacturer wants it for every kind of product.

There are a butt-load of people just waiting for an electric car like this!!! Folks that don't need or want to pay for all the ridiculous bells and whistles of the other EXPENSIVE EV's!!
  • @marcoshenz
This car is coming to Brazil this week. Is the most anticipated of the year. The one from last yer was the Dolphin ;) Brazil's customers are all waiting for EVs, but the "local" brands are still playing dumb

I was looking at the Kia EV9 but I could get 6 of these instead, one for each of the family right.....This really is game changing.
