However, when Jerry Hester started his Illini career in 1993-94, it started a 20 year run of Peoria players representing the Fighting Illini – including Sergio McClain, Marcus Griffin, Frank Williams, Jerrance Howard, Brian Randle, Bill Cole, D.J. Richardson.
Now after three years without any Peoria representation on the roster, Peoria Manual's DaMonte Williams, son of Illini great Frank Williams, will suit up for Illinois next season.

Add Damonte Williams and Adam Miller to the list 🔶🔷🔶🔷

What a group those three were, shame that none of them showed up in the elite eight against Arizona. Had we made the final four that year who knows what would’ve happened. We’d already played Duke close earlier in the year in North Carolina.

Damonte Williams!! Also had he not skipped to the NBA lets not forget Shaun Livingston was out of the Peoria area...Man...that woulda been sweet....Crazy how many successful hoopers came from this city in the middle of illinois!

Peoria, Illinois high school Manual brought it and was the first to win four state rings in a row. Also, the Chicago Bulls was winning and ruling the NBA. Illinois basketball speaks for itself and the world know it.
